Offered is a wonderful Purple Heart set with WWI Victory Medal (and three clasps) to a Corporal with 305th Ambulance Company, 302nd Ambulance Train. I just recently bought this set but have to now let it go due to a number of other purchases of similar PHs from the same unit.

Corporal Roy W. Gast was born on December 6, 1894 in Pennsylvania. He arrived in France in April 1918 and saw action on the Vesle River, the Aisne and the Meuse-Argonne. He was gassed on May 29, 1918.

His scarce, early Purple Heart is numbered 61,360 from the second order with the Bailey, Banks & Biddle Company of Philadelphia, PA. It includes its original box and is engraved on the reverse. Also included is Gast's WWI Victory Medal with Aisne-Marne, Muese Argonne and Defensive Sector clasps.

This set is featured on the wonderful website, To Honor Our Fallen.

It is a rare, early set from 1937.

$365 plus shipping. We split the PayPal fee.

Please send a PM if interested.
