I simply bought it to compare the measurments of the pin to my other one. I?ve come across a similar Godet, and was wondering whether it would be appropriate for a wartime (i.e., pre november 1918) tunic I own. I am familiar with the medal loops you refer to, and in fact, own a bunch of fairly high end tunics myself: you can check them out athttp://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=20065 if you wish. From the little I know of EK?s 1914, I?m pretty sure the Godet with fangs is private purchase, not issue. What I am trying to establish is whether that type of cross was wartime manufactured or not, so that I may deterimne whether it would be suitable for one of the tunics I own. Eric Stahlhut Posted September 13, 2012 Share Posted September 13, 2012 (edited) i saw that one when it was listed, but refrained from buying it as i wasn't satisfied with the non-matching length of the hooks and the 'fill' between the frames. it appeared as though it had been cleaned at some point with the wrong type of silver polish, which can sometimes cause the frames to separate even further. . glad to see that someone from the forum picked it up. enjoy!
