Yes,I thought about too, indeed is the reverse of the medal.

Must be an explanation though, hard I imagine an Officer not to know the obverse of a medal.

He might fancy the sign of the reverse "ZA VERNOST OTADJBINI 1915" which we can translate as "For (soldiers) faith to the fatherland 1915"

Another explanation is to dislike King Alexandar and he prefer King Peter I better :speechless1:

(As we see,the other medal is with the obverse side )

There is no medal damage as the photo came with these 2 medals.

    Indeed an interesting photo,I agree...

Interesting, its the same pins on the medal in the right that French medals have when being awarded.

    best

    Chrus

Yes and Belgian medals within the same spirit.

Serbian army of that time was very French oriented, don't forget they fight side by side at Balkan front in Northern Greece.

    Great photo

the badge is from the association of war veterans of WWI, thus the picture should be definitely from the post WWI era, after 1930 as the order of the yugoslav crown was instituted on april 5 1930.

Another 2 portraits of Serbian Officers,

1st Lieutenant's both, interesting photo the one with white wear, Summer uniform maybe?

The one on the left has been taken in Thesaloniki when Serbian army was there during WW1.

    Great addition Ulsterman,

A Captain of 2 class here ( 3 stars on his epoletes ).

Seems to me a real war hero this man.

First, Order of Karadjordje for Officers, then Order of St.Sava and if I am not mistaken the French cross at 3rd place, but I am not much into French awards ,so I might mistaken.

Serbia-Yugoslavia Kingdom bars are rare with high collectible value, especially something like this one with 2 Orders and a foreign medal.

    Awesome photos Sasa,

I am speechless, first time I see Serbian Pilots, look at those leather jackets, Jezz.I hope they was black :)

I like a lot also the last photo of the previous page, these soldiers look great and happy while at the front during war.

I bet they could hold four times their number of Austrian soldiers. :cheeky:

Serbian Army was one of the best in Europe that time, true heros.....
