Less known is the 100 anniversary of the foudation of the first navy unit. All starts with the "Allerhöchste Kabinettsordre" from 3rd May 1913. Where the german emperor order the creation of two units: 1. Marine-Luftschiffabteilung located at Johannesthal / Berlin 2. Marine-Fliegerabteilung located at Puzig near Danzig. I ask you all to post everything related to the german navy aviation from 1913 to 1920. Everything like badges, documents, paper, medal / ribbon bars, uniform and parts of this. This picture was taken 1913 at Puzig and show the later Oberflugmeister Erich Kästner (on the top of the a/c). Plüschow in his Heinkel HD-24. The "TSINGTAU" on the fuselage is a nod to his time as a lone German aviator at the Siege of Tsingtau. I think it is more a question of artifacts from German Naval Aviation are so very rare. I wish I had something to contribute. Jaba1914, the badges you posted are beautiful and they are my favorite German flight badge. I expecially like the Naval Observe badge with the large eagle on it. Would you post a picture of one? Wich is close to Königsberg were the army observer school was located. Maybe the navy officers come over to the army guys for spending some time together, share experiences and drink some beer :-) On one of this occasion or at the end of a courses they brought this gift. Seems to have a Hanson mini screw disc on top followed by a Meybauer 'cross' plate then finally a custom made backplate . Covers most makers !!
