ID request for WWII Russian Docs and Medals Group

    Recommended Posts

Hello and thanks for looking at my posting.

I am writing to see if the members of the Forum might be able to identify the following group that was all found together in a small box. I know the two medals are Victory over Germany and Combat Service. My question is: What is everything else and does it all belong together?

    Thanks so much

    Mark

They definitely all go together a nice documented group awarded to Anton Kranennikov or Kraschenikov, he appears to be either Lithuanian or Latvian (I can never remember which language is which but he has a bilingual ID card). A very nice find.

    There are two different persons

    1st

His name and photo is in the Military ID book.

    Krasheninnikov Victor Konstantinovich

He was a lance corporal. Avia-mechanic

Same name is in the medal doc.

    He was demobilized in 1948

    2nd

Captain. Artillerist (photo was made before 1943)

Later photo of him as a major with guards' badge and five wound stripes (photo was made after 1943 +)

    A group?!

    Hardly ...

    Guys,

My apologies for not responding sooner but I didnt not receive any notification that anyone even posted a comment. I thank you for the feedback and I to thought the photos were of all the same person. I do think there are some simularities.

Next question is: How easy is it to obtain the service records for Konstantinovich? Cost if they survive?

    Thanks

    Mark

    Hi Mark

If he was an officer you can get his service record, I would suggest to get the CSM researched first to confirm details on his rank then go from there

cost on researching can vary, if you need help let me know

    Caz,

I dont know why I dont receive notifications of responses but I apologize and thank you for the assistance. I am open for suggestions and directions as I have no experience in researching Russian awards/documents.

    Cheers,

    Mark
