What I like the most, besides its provenience, of course, is the fact it combines bravery awards from five different German states, without any commemoratives, jubilee medals, long service awards and such. The Rettungsmedaille am Bande is just the icing on the cake! One minor correction, though: the decoration in last place is from the principality of Lippe (so-called "Lippe-Detmold"), not from Schaumburg-Lippe. It belongs to Flugmechanikermaat Bernhard Friedrich Wilhelm Sobol From Jun. - Sep. 1915 at Flieger-Ersatz-Abteilung 6. Changed to the Navy on Oct. 1915 and served at SFS Holtenau. Mar. - Aug. 1916 with the Flieger-Abteilung Xanthi. This unit was a combined Army and Navy flying unit before the Army left Xanthi.
