    1. Gents, A real unicorn. One of only two confirmed Red Army female recipients of a U.S. Army decoration in World War II. Guards Senior Lieutenant Valentina P. Komarova was assigned to the 86th Guards Rifle Division when it linked up with the U.S. 26th Infantry Division in Czechoslovakia in May 1945. She was awarded the Legion of Merit in the degree of Legionnaire. Komarova served as an admin officer in the division headquarters' 4th Department. She is highlighted in the reference book We Were Allies Once - U.S. Army Decorations Awarded to Red Army Personnel in World War II. Regards, slava1stclass
    2. Gents, Currently available at the well-known, NYC-area dealer. Price: $12,400.00. The recipient was a private serving as a reconnaissance scout in a cavalry regiment subordinate to a cavalry division assigned to 5th Guards Cavalry Corps, 3rd Ukrainian Front when recommended for his final Order of Glory. Mistakenly awarded two Orders of Glory Second Class during the war, the oversight was finally corrected in September 1969 when this OGI was awarded. His two Orders of Glory Second Class were awarded for valor in action in Hungary in the final quarter of 1944. Of note, he marched in the June 24, 1945, Victory Parade on Red Square. He was also awarded an ORS during the war. This dealer last sold this same OGI in December 2005 for $5,600.00. Regards, slava1stclass

    5. Gents, For the first time in almost three years, the well-known NYC-area dealer has an OGI for sale. Price: $13,500.00 (a 38% price hike over the last one he offered). It was awarded to a junior sergeant who was a gun crew member in a rifle regiment subordinate to a rifle division in 5th Shock Army, 1st Belorussian Front. 9. Gents, This OGII to a Full Cavalier recently sold at auction in the former Soyuz for $340.00. The recipient was a corporal serving as a sapper-recon scout assigned to an independent sapper battalion subordinate to a rifle division in 3rd Guards Army, 1st Ukrainian Front. Mistakenly recommended and approved for a second OGII for valor in action in Czechoslovakia in October 1944, the error was not detected and corrected until 1984 when his OGI was finally presented. He was also decorated with two ORS and a BM during the war. Regards, slava1stclass
    10. Gents, An OGI that recently surfaced in the former Soyuz. He was recommended for his OGI for valor in action in mid-April 1945 in East Prussia. He was additionally awarded an ORS, an erroneous second OGIII and two BMs during the war. He also marched in the historic June 24, 1945, Victory Parade on Red Square. Regards, slava1stclass
    11. Gents, This OGI to a Full Cavalier is currently available on the well-known auction site. Its buy-it-now price is $9,249.99. 12. Gents, I can now confirm an eleventh Red Army recipient of the Legion of Merit in the degree of Chief Commander - Army General Ivan D. Chernyakhovskiy. Chernyakhovskiy commanded 3rd Belorussian Front at the time he was killed in action on February 18, 1945, in East Prussia. President Truman approved Chernyakhovskiy's posthumous Legion of Merit award on May 22, 1946. I have updated my book to reflect this important new addition. Regards, slava1stclass
    13. Gents, An OGI currently at auction in the former Soyuz. The recipient was a senior sergeant serving as a 45mm gun commander in an infantry regiment and division subordinate to 60th Army, 4th Ukrainian Front when recommended for his final Order of Glory (an OGII in his case). Mistakenly awarded two OGIIIs during the war, it was not until 1978 that the error was detected, corrected and this OGI issued in place of the erroneous second OGIII award. 14. Gents, This unissued/unawarded OGI sold in the former Soyuz on August 18, 2022, for $11,468.00. Regards, slava1stclass
    15. Gents, Although there were over 35 bids, the seller pulled/cancelled the auction some three days before it was due to end. Seller stated the item was no longer available. It is possible the seller was approached with a side offer that was too attractive to decline. Regards, slava1stclass
