I am an X South African transplanted to St. Louis Missouri where I live with my family and practice as a Neurosurgeon. All my collecting interests revolve around South Africa. I collect many topics, which began many years ago with the philately of Southern Africa,to include the stamps, covers, especially first flights, also the philately & postcards of the Boer war backed up by a very large library of South African reference books.Recently, my good friend, Mervyn Mitton has got me hooked on the tipstaves and truncheons of Britain, a new collecting interest which is academically and aesthetically very stimulating.

    1. CJ I have the book "Cheshire Yeomanry". I have reviewed the index and paged through the entire book and cannot find the letters written by any of the Frasers. I have found a photo of Trooper Fraser of the 21st company guarding prisoner Le Clerk commissariat officer to the Boers on page 306, unfortunately I don't know which Fraser this is.Sorry I cannot be more helpful. Selwyn.
    2. Thank You Mervyn. I have spent quite some time and have downloaded all the tipstaves and truncheons you have posted.

    3. Selwyn - welcome to the Forum. I think you and your eldest, Daniel will enjoy the different posts.
