    1. The first WSMs will be presented early this summer to a representative sample of recipients, with the medal enter mass production in the autumn, when it will be issued more widely.
    2. There has been much discussion regarding the naming of Australian Police LSGC medals. It is challenging to attach any rules to it. There are also at least two known examples of LSGC’s to Queensland Police that were issued unnamed. Below are some examples.
    3. In medal collecting, you can never have too much information. So I thought it might be handy to have this for future reference. Below image referenced from Clive Johnson’s book Australian's Awarded.
    4. The Wider Service Medal (WSM) medal, which has been approved by HM The King, recognises Armed Forces personnel and civilians working outside the traditional criteria of existing operational medals.
    5. The Border Force and Immigration Enforcement Long Service and Good Conduct Medal is awarded under strict eligibility criteria. Staff who retired before the 1st January 2022 are unfortunately not eligible. The 1st January 2022 date was chosen to coincide with the receipt of the Royal Warrant of Appointment in June 2021.
    6. Information concerning this award, is pretty much nonexistent, to say the least! Curious also how it isn’t even mentioned in the October 23, effigy announcement by gov.uk? https://www.gov.uk/government/news/six- ... e-revealed
    7. Further information has come to light which might be of interest? Apparently there is no E11R version of this medal, all recipients will received a C111R regardless of whether they qualified under E11R. Also there is another presentation ceremony scheduled in for the 1st May.
    9. Another Army one, haven’t seen any other types yet……..
    10. Update re the Metropolitan Police LSGC presentation, of Wednesday 13th March 2024. It has been confirmed, to me by one of the recipients that all these medals were awarded to officers who had qualified in September (posted Queen’s passing) and October 2020. There was no one present who qualified after October 22 and that all the medals did bear the late Queen’s effigy. The Commissioner did in fact state, that HM The King has authorised the issue of the long service medal with the Queen’s effigy to everyone who qualified for it, during the first year of his reign.
    11. Apparently Humberside Constabulary are being issued there’s at the moment.
    12. 130 LSGC’s presented to officers from the Metropolitan Police, yesterday. (*E11R effigy)
