    1. Peter, the blouse he is wearing in the photo is 1940 pattern , this one is 1949 pattern with some modifications.....my main question was regarding the role of the royal warwickshires in Palestine 45-48.... The sleeve badge (hammer & pincers) is the REME badge..I'm wondering if he was attached to the REME....chris
    2. Picked this little lot up....WWII pair and Palestine 1945-48 GSM...named to Edward Tookey...came with some photos and other bits including the field blouse..the insignia on the blouse have confused me...it has cloth patch on both sleeves small White triangle within a black triangle,( 1st division infantry?????) and a REME sleeve badge....the blouse has his name inside but it's not the one he is wearing in the photos...can anyone shed any light on why these badges are present? ..thanks in advance

    4. Yea but the Arabian medal is an unofficial bling medal so would have been engraved privately...
    5. Paul, the Arabian medal is engraved ..4143849 L.A.C. JACKSON J.R.1955-57 RAF
    6. Thanks guys, I believe recipient is RAF they come with three other medals too....as in the photo... ' alt='' class='ipsImage' width="1000px" height="736px"> ' alt='' class='ipsImage' width="1000px" height="736px">
    7. I'm very happy with this group paul especially as it came with lots of other items....and for a great price.....just need to work out best way to display it all lol
    8. Paul, I have spoken to the person I got this group from who knew Kendrick in his latter years....as far as he is aware Kendrick left the Army in mid/late 80's and he thinks he made rank of sergeant....so the best part of 30 years service...
    9. Paul, here he is in the 1969 book L.BDR Gibson ..... ' alt='' class='ipsImage' > ' alt='' class='ipsImage' >
    10. Cheers Paul...on his lsgc he is bombardier but on the gsm box it is printed northern Ireland clasp with L.BDR next to it...I'll take a photo when next at home....also in the Korea 1969 book it is L.BDR Gibson under his photo.....as for starting in the 1950's. Amongst his stuff is a 51 pattern great coat ..dated 1955.....
    11. That's what I thought Paul, but didn't harm to ask.I'd love to be able to track what he did and also what his rank was when he left the army.. In the 1969 Korea honor guard book he is listed as lance bombardier..I'd like to know if that was as high as he got.....I have a load of other bits and bobs that were his too. A few army sports awards and his MWC watch, a couple of nice dated pocket knives, jacket, kit bag, belts, bed roll, cap badges including one that has been painted black as I believe was common when serving in northern Ireland, the 1969 honor guard book, also I believe he was involved in exercise spearpoint 80...I have the Ken Howard sketch book. And a low number 8/80 limited edition print of spearpoint 80 by Ken Howard that allegedly features Kendrick in it....
    12. Just picked up these medals along with a collection of numerous personal effects of 23994725 Lance Bombardier Kendrick Gibson Royal Artillery .......The GSM is correctly named 23994725 GNR K. GIBSON. RA and the LSGC is correctly named 23994725 BDR. K. GIBSON. RA. ... The medal box is stamped CLASP "NORTHERN IRELAND" with his rank written as L.BDR............is there any way I can obtain. His service records ..... I also have his Fathers regimental year book for the U.N.C./ 8th U.S.A HONOR GUARD KOREA 1969... ( will start a thread with that in the appropriate section later) ' alt='' class='ipsImage' width="1000px" height="746px"> ' alt='' class='ipsImage' width="1000px" height="746px">
