    1. A beautiful bar. I wonder if any new information has come to light in the past 10 years on who the recipient might be. Gary B
    2. Yes it is in the upcoming Merenti auction. Provenance as discussed above. Thoughts? Gary B
    3. Seeking opinions on this 1813 EK1. Thanks in advance. Gary B
    4. Thanks for the reply. Normally on the plaques it is the recipient's name. Hopefully another will turn up or perhaps info from the original manufacturer of the ehrenpreis. Gary B
    5. Hi Alex, It is "ehrenpreis-like"....what it is is unknown. The dueling eagles are of the smaller variety (smaller than the ones found on the ehrenpreis. They are, IMO, the same size as the "dueling eagles" that Weitze sold a few years ago (not sure if you recall those - it was just a set of the smaller eagles)). Attached is a picture of the plaque. 6. Bringing this back to the top again with another question....it was mentioned by someone that there was a Oblt z s Delius on the rank list. Could Delius have been assigned to a Zeppelin? Initial comments focused on/assumed he was a naval flying officer. His name does not appear on any list of known Pilots or Observers but if he was part of a Zeppelin crew, it might explain his rank (zur See), why he is not listed as a Pilot/Observer and the different ehrenpreis. 7. I have the following engraved on a badge.... Schmalschläger s.l Hörmann z. Erg. an den verhängnisvollen Flug 16 x 16 My poor translation indicates it is to remember some sort of fateful flight. What is the s.l and z. Erg stand for? I have found 2 Schmalschläger and 2 Hörmann but can not link the 2 (if in fact I have the correct people) Thanks in advance. Gary B

    9. This is the 1st model which is also known as the "scalloped edges" model. They sell for a premium to the later versions. Gary B
