WHAT HAPPENED TO THE NAZI GOLD?
One Trenton Parker, an ex-Marine colonel with CIA connections and claiming to have inside knowledge as to what actually became of the Nazi gold horde following World War II, was Tom Valentine's guest on his nightly radio show, Radio Free America, on July 29, 1993. Parker is described in the Radio Free America catalog of past programs as follows:

July 29, 1993: A veteran CIA operative claiming to be with an especially secretive group known as Pegasus, was guest. Trenton Parker, a "sheep-dipped" Marine Colonel, told of his role in planning/execution of the "great energy scam" of the 70s when Big Oil drove U.S. independent oil companies out of business, closed/opened the Suez Canal, created lines at gas pumps to drive up price of oil, filched stolen gold into the market by opening the gold window to Americans for 1st time since 1933, sold weapons to Arab states getting rich from the oil scam and sealed the deal with Portland cement from Spain.

For further background on Parker, see Rodney Stich's classic outline of hidden corruption in the U.S. government, Defrauding America {1}. See also Radio Free America's tape archives of past programs {2}.

By way of background, it may be helpful to re-acquaint ourselves with a few things:

(1) Francisco Franco emerged from the Spanish Civil War (circa 1936) as the undisputed dictator of then-fascist Spain. Franco had friendly ties to Hitler's Germany.

(2) ODESSA: an abbreviation of Organisation Der Ehemaligen SS-Angehorigen (German: "Organization of Former SS Members"). The Encyclopaedia Britannica describes ODESSA, in part, as follows: "...clandestine escape organization of the SS underground... A large organizational network was set up to help former SS and Gestapo members and other high Nazi functionaries to avoid arrest... to escape from prison, or to be smuggled out of the country. The main escape routes were (1) through Austria and Italy, then to Franco's Spain, (2) to Arab countries of the Middle East, and (3) to South America..."

(3) Martin Bormann: again, quoting in part from the Encyclopaedia Britannica, "[Bormann] became head of the administrative machinery of the Nazi Party, and through intrigue, party infighting, and his shrewd manipulation of Hitler's weaknesses and eccentricities, he became a shadowy but extremely powerful presence in the Third Reich... He disappeared shortly after the death of Hitler, and it was presumed that he was either dead or in hiding... Later reports, especially in the 1960s, alleged that Bormann had escaped and had been living in South America, possibly Paraguay. However, early in 1973 a Berlin forensic expert established 'with near certainty' that one of two skeletons unearthed during construction in West Berlin in December 1972 was that of Bormann, and on April 11, 1973, West German authorities officially declared him dead."

As is apparent from the Radio Free America catalog excerpt quoted above, Parker discussed many things during his July 29, 1993 appearance. What follows is the gist of his explanation of what actually happened to the "lost" Nazi gold horde. For further details I refer interested readers to the tape of his July 29th testimony, available from Valentine Communications (see below).

Many of us have heard the story that the Nazi gold was thrown into a deep lake in Switzerland and sank far down, down to the bottom. Parker calls this nonsense. The gold, he says, was never thrown into any lake. The gold went into Spain, through Martin Bormann's ODESSA. There it sat, under the watchful eye of Generalisimo Franco.

"A lot of people have never, ever, asked the obvious question: What deal was struck, in order for Franco to pull out of the Axis powers during the Second World War?... And the deal was: you get to be president; we're not going to bother you... There was a deal struck... Spain became, in effect, a major access and exit point for a lot of people coming out of Germany at that time."

How does Parker know all this? One Ortega-Perez served as a staff interpreter for General Eisenhower. The sister of Ortega-Perez had married one of Franco's physicians. So, one of Franco's physicians passed what he knew to his wife, who passed it to Ortega-Perez, who passed it to Eisenhower and/or others in that group, and from there the information was grabbed hold of by U.S. Intelligence.

Parker insists that Martin Bormann did not die in Germany, as West German officials had declared. "I can assure you that Martin Bormann did not die in Berlin. He looked very much alive, in March of 1975, in a villa outside of Madrid, Spain, where I went to negotiate the liquidation of various tons of gold which were turned into perfect Krugerrands."

That is the second part of the story: what happened to the gold after it got to Spain. The gold remained in Spain, in care of Francisco Franco, until circa 1975. Then, with Franco about to expire, things began to happen. With Franco nearing his end, other factors occurred at about this same time; said factors coalescing to bring about "Phase II" of "What Happened To The Nazi Gold?" As Parker tells it, the closing of the Suez Canal and subsequent shortages of "Portland-grade cement" came together as chips to be used by international power brokers in a complicated deal. The details of said deal are beyond the scope of this article. For further information, again, get hold of the tape of the original, July 29, 1993 broadcast.

"If you'll remember, at this particular point in time, we got rid of American's not being able to own gold. And the big push was Krugerrands. And you could buy 'em through Merrill-Lynch and Hutton and what have you. It's easy to counterfeit perfect Krugerrands if you've got gold." According to Parker, the gold was turned into counterfeit Krugerrands and sold in the biggest potential market of that time: The United States of America.

If you have doubts, then Parker asks you to consider the following: even though Americans were buying a lot of gold at that time, because of the sudden legality that now they were allowed to do so, the price of gold did not climb; it stayed flat. "The only explanation for that is that somebody is bringing in a new supply of gold."

Tom Valentine, host of Radio Free America, summed it up: "Tons of Krugerrands, phony Krugerrands, made from the Nazi Germany gold... This was actually turned into Krugerrands and they put it into the market."

I thought he (Franco) already was president of Spain before WW II started. ohmy.gif

"Netural" Spains contribution to the German War Effort on the Russian Front in men etc . . was very small, approximately 45,000 men by rotation, and nearly all had been withdrawn by 17th April 1944.

"various tons of gold" sure they just walked into Spain from Germany with the gold hidden in the lining of their suitcases. tongue.gif

We are being asked to believe that Spain was an escape route for Nazis while it was full of Allied Inteligence personell and none of then saw any suspicious activity?? rolleyes.gif

Please Pull The Other One, its full of plastic Kruger-Rands tongue.gif

Hi Kev beer.gif ,

A fellow sceptic, thats nice to see!!!! However, I do love this sort of thing. I suppose the concept could be real, but the facts as given in this article are full of holes I agree. The Krugerrand would certianly be an easy coin to copy, especially, if you were using gold, and the reason for doing this wasn`t in fact to make fake coins, but to launder the gold you already had. I suppose no one would be any the wiser, unless you used all the same year, and all of a sudden the martket was flooded with more 1967 coins that were made if you get my train of thought. If you read one of my other treads, you`ll see that after the war, the Allies found hordes of gold sovereigns, in various banks in Spain & Portugal, the old Swiss Banks, certainly delivered gold to these countries, so I suppose the concept could be real. But lets just say for the sake or arguement, this in fact turns out to be the trueth, and lets just say there was a way to tell the difference between an South African Krugerrand & a Nazi one, which one would be more valuable? sad.gif

Maybe, maybe, rolleyes.gif & the Aliens demanded to be paid in fake Krugerrands minted for Nazi gold, which is where the whole story started. beer.gif

I read somewhere that Bormann, had been arrested with a suitcase full of counterfeit Krugerrands. It drew my attention as I was under the impression he`d been killed in Berlin in 1945?

Martin Bormann disappeared in the breakout from the Berlin Bunker in 1945.

According to Erich Kempka (Hitler's chauffeur), Bormann was killed trying to cross the Russian lines by an anti-tank shell which hit the tank in which they were trying to escape, causing it to burst into flames. Kempka, who was temporarily blinded at the time, claimed nonetheless to have seen Bormann's dead body. Hitler Youth Leader, Artur Axmann, on the other hand, believed that Bormann committed suicide and claimed to have seen Bormann's body on 2 May 1945 in the Invalidenstrasse, north of the River Spree in Berlin.

Doubts, however, have persisted and numerous sightings of Bormann have been reported, beginning in 1946 when his presence in a North Italian monastery was announced. In the same year, his wife Gerda (a rabid Nazi and daughter of Supreme Party Judge, Walter Buch) died of cancer in South Tyrol, though his ten children survived the war.

It was then alleged that Bormann had escaped (like other loyal Nazis) via Rome to South America. Rumored to have settled in Argentina where he was living secretly as a millionaire, allegedly spotted in Brazil and also in Chile, Bormann's traces proved as elusive as the anonymity in which he first rose to power.

Having been sentenced to death in absentia at Nuremberg on 1 October 1946, he was formally pronounced dead by a West German court in April 1973 but his precise fate remains unknown.

Any arrest post 1945 with or without a suitcase (heavy) with Krugerrands, would have placed him in the worlds spotlight, for a High Profile War Crimes Trial, especially with him being one of the main nazi henchmen, and even more so after,
Hitler, Gobbels Himmler, & Goring, all committed suicide to evade justice.

Nazi gold 'shipped by U-boat to Argentina'

Many millions of pounds of Nazi gold was sent across the Atlantic to the coast of Patagonia by submarine in the last days of the Second World War, according to a new and painstakingly researched Argentine documentary Oro Nazi en Argentina (Nazi Gold in Argentina). The funds went to finance major Nazi figures some of whom survive to this day, unashamed of their past.

The film received an enthusiastic reception at the recent Sao Paulo Film Festival and will be shown at the Brussels festival on Tuesday before going off to festivals in Spain and Cuba. Its creators hope to stage premieres in Argentina and the rest of the world early next year boosted by some international awards.

Years of research have unearthed much new evidence about the dispatch of vast wealth from Germany to the Argentina of Juan Peron as Hitler's regime tottered and fell. "We got great evidence from staff at the U-boat museum at Laboe on the Baltic near Kiel", said Daniel Botti, who worked on the film. Aged Nazi survivors in South America had cheerfully recounted their experience to the film-makers, he added. "What they said was chilling." They include Wilfred von Oven, who had worked with Joseph Goebbels, Hitler's propaganda chief, and wrote for German-language newspapers in Argentina.

Six decades after the events portrayed, the film makes uncomfortable watching for many in Germany, Switzerland and Argentina itself, as well as the Vatican. Interviews and reconstructions were shot on location with advice from experts such as Jean Ziegler, the former university lecturer who has infuriated many Swiss with his criticisms of their banks' connections with the Nazis.

The film's producer, Rodolfo "Rolo" Pereyra, accuses Pope Pius XII of aiding the process and telling various senior clergy to collaborate with the organisers, notably Bishop Alois Hudal, an anti-semitic pro-Nazi who ran Santa Maria dell'Anima, the church of the German community in Rome, and Monsignor Krunoslav Draganovic. Draganovic was a Croat who ran the San Girolamo Institute in Rome where he hid associates of Ante Pavelic, the Nazi puppet who had ruled Croatia during that era.

According to British intelligence files available at the National Archives at Kew, Draganovic's institute specialised in forging documents for fascist Croats helping some 7,250 Ustashi on their way to Argentina in 1946-48. The charge was $1,000 per person, or $1,400 for VIPs. He himself signed a false Red Cross travel document issued in the name of Altmann which was given to Klaus Barbie, the Gestapo's "Butcher of Lyons". Barbie was later extradited from Bolivia to face justice in France.

In his book Peron y Los Alemanes (Peron and the Germans), the author Uki Goni recounts how Draganovic received Barbie from the hands of US intelligence agents at Genoa railway station and shepherded him on to an Argentine ship in March 1951. When Barbie asked why he was helping him to flee, Draganovic, who had aided Pavelic with ethnic cleansing operations in Croatia, replied: "We must preserve a sort of reserve off which we can feed in the future."

The Vatican has long been linked to the organisation which funnelled Nazis and their wealth to South America when Peron was running Argentina. Peron, who served as Argentina's military attach? in Rome before the Second World War, was an intense admirer of Benito Mussolini and encouraged Nazi immigration in the 1940s.

Peron employed Rodolfo Freude as head of information at the presidential palace. The son of a businessman and paymaster for the German spy network in Argentina, Freude had charge of the funds sent by submarine. He was helped by Werner Koennecke, who spied indiscriminately for the British, Germans and Argentines and who was married to Freude's sister Lily. Koennecke was arrested by the Argentine political police in 1944 but released after a few months on Peron's orders.

Antonio Caggiano, archbishop of the Argentine city of Rosario and later of Buenos Aires, is often named as a link in the chain which guided the fleeing Nazis to their new life as he helped to cement deals between Peron and those fleeing war crimes trials in Europe. Caggiano visited Pius XII in Rome in 1946 to collect his cardinal's red hat and was subsequently closely associated with Argentine military dictatorships.

But Rolo Pereyra himself will not be present to experience any more adulation or criticism from those whose actions figure in his work. The producer, still only in his early 50s, died suddenly late on Thursday in Buenos Aires, probably of a heart attack, as he was packing his bags for the flight to Europe.
