    Order of the Red Banner

    Recommended Posts

I find the enamel too "clear", too bright, as so as the gold-plating... but there're the 3 usual mintmarks on the suspension...

could the suspension a genuine one?

    Gents!

I 'm looking on this order and can't understand is it original or not :speechless:

We discussed it on russian forum and without special results.

    Actually there are two opinions:

    newmade copy and last emission.

Pls look at this picture - suspension is different.

"Kremnice mint produce awards from CSSR period by now ...for tourists and for collectors"

I don't know anyone who collects REAL Czech... anything on this side of the ocean--so I don't know why anyone would bother to make FAKES. I pick up Academy badges etc (Zukov did VERY nice silver/enamel work) when I can find them, but there has been almost no "action" for Czech awards. I don't know why. They are significant, and well made.

But even fewer collectors over here than there are for  Cuban  items, and that is VERY few people indeed!

    To Rick:

I'm sorry , CSSR ODM are very interesting .

All Czech awards have the original design and national details - I like it !

I can show some of my favorites here if you want.

And I stil hope to find here the professional answer...

    To Seb:

Of course.Pictures are small but if you look on Red Banner order you can easily see diferences ;)

I find the CSSrcoat-of-arms a bit crude; theoriticaly the czech coinage is fine and smooth...

I don't think anyone was questioning the potential interest in socialist Czech awards. It is just that (1) very little appears on the market and (2) there are no good sources (in English at least). Now, if there is an active ongoing program of faking, . . . :banger:

hello, a poor picture coming from "ceeskoslovenska statni vyznamenani, statni cestna uznani a ceny", by Vladivoj Pulec, SNTL-ALFA, Prague 1980

but look at the excellent enamel finishing on the borders...

Yes-- don't misunderstand-- I LIKE Czech awards as well. Very little can compare to the quality of the Order of the White Lion.:love::love:

But there is no collector INTEREST here in Czech items. So why FAKE items that nobody "wants" as REAL ones?

The same is sadly true of People's Republic of China items. ZERO collector interest-- and literally thousands of crude fakes.

Oh. With the name spelled right I did find it: Ceskoslovenska Statni Vyznamenani, Statni Cestna Uznani a Ceny.

that's what you believe, but chinese collectors market is now huge, and it seems what they leave to us is only fakes...

    a little bit off-topic ;)

Actually I thought that too, especially after visiting our friend with his stuff in Lowell (which I ignored for years), but over the past year I have been quietly trying to gather some decent WW2 "revolt" related items and higher end awards and much to my surprise, bidding on these on eBay has become quite competitive. Despite a lack of reference material, these items are going for three or four times what I had supposed. Sometimes I have been stunned at the final prices.

My opinion, that the discussing award is non awarded item from the last period of communism in Chechoslovakia. I saw many orders of lust period and all of them were very bad in quality........

hello, any news about this order?
