Stogieman Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Currently, there's some rather interesting parts being auctioned on eBay Germany. They are parts for Turkish Imtiaz & Liaket Medals, and parts for ribbon bars....
Stogieman Posted March 28, 2008 Author Posted March 28, 2008 The current high bidder is none other than our old friend, maker of erronious ribbon bars & medal bars.AM-MilitariaMy guess is we'll see these mounted on a new batch of his fake bars coming to eBay soonGOSH, what a surprise
Chris Boonzaier Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Go for it....PM me the links and what your top bids are... if need be I will jump in if he bids over that :-)
Ulsterman Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 me too-this is the sort of stuff that over the next 20 years someone will need to repair something-or it'll be useful for an article.
Ulsterman Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 (edited) While we are on the subject:He is also offering these. I know zip little about these, but have a vague memory of a BDOS "Falshcung" article @ 2-3 years ago about them. I would HATE to see them go to Der Fraudmeister":What do you chaps think: Bone fide or modern copies? Edited March 28, 2008 by Ulsterman
Stogieman Posted March 28, 2008 Author Posted March 28, 2008 Those bars look legit too, but I don't think they were ever established as anything other than post-WW1 "private purchase"...
Guest Rick Research Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 I think I can see the Austro-Hungarian wartime "*" base metal mark on the back of the Gold Liakat Sabers Bar, and it looks like maybe a silver mark on the reverse of the Silver Imtiaz Sabers Bar, but these scaans are so crappy that's it.Betcha these came from some thrifty 1930s tailor shop who kept the spare parts as he remounted medals German style-- those later bars used replacement Sabers Bars like the ones with splints since the Ottoman slide ons wouldn't work with German doubled ribbons.I suppose our new Turkish friends who are spending what is for us INSANE amounts of money on these awards will ride to the rescuethough in a way, I'd love to see The Vile Sausage Maker actually STUCK with these, at a cost so high that he could not possibly EVER recoup his outlay in the manufacture of his revolting garbage fakes. I have been hoping for Biblical retribution of the struck dead by lightning in the street sort, but such happy miracles no longer happen in our degraded times.
Stogieman Posted March 30, 2008 Author Posted March 30, 2008 Cuurent high bidder is a Turkish Collector/Dealer. 100 Euro+ on both lots. The small enameled bars were the most interesting to me. Does anybody know what they were for?
Guest Rick Research Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 The curved ones? Bits out of the center ring of a Medjidie Order-- there were 4 around the Sultan's cypher.
Stogieman Posted March 31, 2008 Author Posted March 31, 2008 And done with a nice 500+ Euro finish for PARTS!!! Good Deal....
Guest Rick Research Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 Well, that keeps them out of the slimy paws of the Frankenstein butcher anyway.
Stogieman Posted May 21, 2008 Author Posted May 21, 2008 Same seller is back with three more lots. He's milking the stash for lots of Euros!
eitze Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 I am very interested in Turkish ODM - but nowadays starting a new collection would be financial suicide with these prices greetingseitze
