    1. Hi chris, the one pictured is a large size , 66 up I'd say. You can tell its a variant by the way the front visor is formed.
    2. Thanks for your reply. I posted some pics on another forum :- link http://1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=179091 Regards, David
    3. Hi, I was browsing the net to try and find a similar ww1 German helmet that I have in my collection. I have never had any luck in finding one the same shape until I read an old post on here which had a lot of photos and descriptions. This one looks like the one I have: link below:- http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/41626-german-austrian-turkish-bulgarian-steel-helmets/ 14th photo down.... Officer of Austrian Kaiserjäger Sturmbataillon, wearing an experimental German Stahlhelm M.1918 with a sloping brow: I was wondering if you know any more of the history of this helmet, it's extremely different shape to the normal helmets. Someone told me mine might be an early pre production model but this photo and description of yours dates it at 1918. Any help greatly appreciated, Thanks, David.
    4. Hi all, just purchased this no.14 periscope and was wondering if any of you had some knowledge on them, i have spent some time searching the net but to little or no avail. Some one said it was probably used by the artillery foo's or trench mortar teams. It is war department stamped which means it was an issued piece of kit rather than a private purchase like the other r j beck periscopes - i think? Any help greatly appreciated. p.s i have a link to a picture sharing site as they were too large for this site!....... http://s252.photobuc...8v8e/periscope/
