According to the book "Finlands frihetskrig år 1918" (Theslöf, Ignatius, Palmén, Soikkeli, Grotenfelt, Nordenstreng), in book 4 on page 193, there were two officers from Norway that took part on the white side in Finland 1918. I believe I've found one - Lieutenant Paul Holmeskog, Nylands Dragoner. I attach a picture from Harald Natvig's book - Holmelund is in the front. But who can the other officer be? Anyone from Norway that know this? There might be a book that can help out, but I don't have it: "Finland 1918 – Den finske borgerkrigen og nordmennene som var vitne til den" (Mårten Jentoft). Here we go... I found him in Mannerheim's Day order (dagorder) numer 60, page 2, §6. "Följande Herrar Officerare, Deckofficerare och manskap tillhörande den tyska krigsflottan belönas för tapperhet och rådighet med: Frihetskorsets I klass: Kontre-Admiral Hartog. ... Hello again, Here is my largest mini bar collection for one person - Eric Allan Winge - that took part in the Finnish civil war 1918 and the Winter war. /Stefan

Here is another miniature bar. To a Swede in Finland 1918 and one medal is for the conquest of Helsinki - not Tampere as one would think! That leads us to that the man that got it most certainly served at the Swedish legation in Helsinki. But as JohanH recognize above - the lists doesn't always fit the medal bar 🤬 My list of people that were there in Helsinki 1918 is so far: Karl Sigurd Fredriksson af Ekström Nils Leon Jaenson Henrik Leonard Lagerlöf Knut Karl Folke Malmar ...but their decorations do not fit the one below. Some of the foreign orders can come from the nations that they helped out during 1918 in Helsinki or from a attache career after 1918. So, any more suggestions? Regards, Stefan

For some reason the Swedish coppersmith Nils Johan Alfred LIDBOM (1880-1964) went to the Belgian Congo and served there between 1905-1930 (according to the auction text). He was decorated: The Service Star, in gold. (from what I believe it should be) The Royal Order of the Lion, in gold. The Commemorative Medal for the Congo. With the group was his navy badge and a commemorative medal. Can anyone enlighten me regarding these two? Hi! The Russian Tsar visited Stockholm in 1909 and many awards were handed out. So this could be to a NCO in the receiving regiment - one of the Stockholm regiments at the time. I found its content list online and there is a chapter with "Alphabetical list of holders of the Order of St. George and the St. George Arms, awarded during the Civil War of 1918-1920" (Google translate from "Алфавитный список кавалеров ордена Св.
