    1. Hello Gordon and Rick, The jacket has no award loops, and I can not see any evidence there ever were any. From it's condition it appears it was worn very little. I really appreciate all of the information. Best Regards, John
    2. Hello All, I have a Kriegsmarine Officer's Dress Mess Jacket with the current rank of Oberletnant. Inside the pocket is a name tag with what I think might be Carle(?). Not sure of that so I'd most appreciate anyone's opinion on the name. Many Thanks! John
    3. Well guys I am blown away. I never imagined that there was this much information available on Kapitan Zur See Stiller, and even a photo of him. I have allot to learn with my research endeavors. Everyone's help is truly most appreciated. Now comes my translation efforts as my German is very limited. You guys are the best! Thanks again, John
    4. Hello Gordon, I see what you are saying but this looks more like something that may have happened during the manufacturing process. The small dot on the back is perfectly in line with the dot on the front and is into the metal. First time I've seen this and have decided to return it as a result. I do appeciate your looking at this. Best Regars, John
    5. Hello All, I was just sent this submarine combat clasp. It appears to be all original to me but I just can't get past the small circle that is located where the crossed swords meet. There is a corresponding mark on the reverse as well. I have not seen this mark, or flaw, on any other sub clasps. I got an expertise of authenticity from Detlev with this and I'm attaching a scan of that as I can't get the same resolution with my equipment. Can anyone give me their opinion on this? Many Thanks! John
    6. Hello All, Just a short follow up on this Kriegsmarine sailor. I corresponded with Malte Gaack who is currently writing a detailed history of the Bismark and the crew, He advised that Heinrich Neuschwander was one of the only two sailors ever recovered from the Bismark. His body was recovered by the Spanish cruiser Canaris and buried at sea. Mr. Gaack has a website at www.diebismark.de/eindex.html if interested. Best to All, John
    7. Hi Rick, I checked the website KBismark.com and Heinrich Neuschwander is listed. I didn't realize there were so many men on the Bismark and so many that didn't survive. I wonder now also how long the family had to wait for the information concerning the survivors. I would imagine that during wartime, especially in the T.R., information was very slow in coming. I will try to find out more concerning Heinrich and if sucessful will post it here. Best Regards, John
    8. Hello Rick, Thanks allot for that information, it's most appreciated. In the album there are quite a few Army related photos but also some RAD. This was the only Kriegsmarine related photo in the album. Could have been a family member, or a friend, not sure since the owner's name was not written in the album anywhere. At any rate it makes it more special since he went down with the Bismark and I will probably frame it and keep it in my Kriegsmarine collection. All the Best, John
    9. Hello Gordon, Thanks for looking. I attempted to make it larger but I couldn't get it posted. I was most interested in the reference made to the Bismark in the top notice and was curious if he might have been a member of that particular ship? A sad loss at 20 yrs. of age to be sure. Thanks and I'm looking forward to your new reference being published. Best Regards, John
    10. Hello All, I found this photo glued in the last page of an Army related photo album. Can anyone advise what the newspaper clippings say? Many Thanks! John
    11. Thanks again Rick. Your assistance is greatly appreciated. All of this information will keep me busy for awhile. Best Regards, John
    12. Well there are no holes, other than a few light moth nips. I would suspect you are right about the loops being clipped. Perhaps the WW2 Rank List will give further information on his awards. I also hope to locate a photo of him somehwere, if I'm lucky. Thanks again for your help.
    13. Hello Rick, That is simply fantastic research. I am truly blown away. The tunic had no award loops, which I found curious, until I see his only listed award an EK2. I truly appreciate your hard work and everyone's assistance. It's way more than I had hoped for. Thanks again! All the Best, John
    14. Hello Gordon, That is great information and it is most appreciated. It will give me some direction on my research of this Kriegsmarine Officer. Thanks! Best Regards, John
    15. It takes a talent to read this script. Your efforts are much appreciated. Hopefully I will be able to do some research on Oblt. Zur See Stiller. Best Regards, John
