    3. Hello, I'm uncertain if I'm posting this in the correct area, so please bear with me if I haven't. I am attempting to research an award of a King's Commendation to a Member of St John Ambulance. I have a pair of medals consisting of a Defence Medal with a silver King's Commendation device attached and a St John Service medal named to "30934 Sgt. N.H. Coombe. London S.J.A.B. 1944." If anybody can help with information about this award to Sgt. Coombe, or can steer me in the right direction for research, it would be very much appreciated. Thanks, David
    4. Hi 1314, Not to worry. I've looked at the site and peter Ridge's medals are listed. Also I certainly enjoyed looking at some of the fantastic groups that people had in the data base. All the best, David

    6. Hi 1314, Thanks for the information. It certainly does give me something to go on with. Regards, David P.S. By the way, does anybody know if Inspector Ridge is on the medal role for the Africa general Service medal?
    7. Hello Everyone, I'm seeking information on a Reserve Inspector in the Kenya Police during the Mau Mau rebellion. The details I have are: E.5292 Isp ® P.L.J. Ridge. Any information on Inspector Ridge would be much appreciated. Thanking you all in advance, David
    8. Hi Odin Mk 3, Thanks so much for your reply. Seems I have to do some more digging to find out just who Inspector Shaw served with. All the very best, David
    9. Hello Everybody, Once again I'm seeking help about a group of medals I have recently purchased. The group is a Defence Medal, 1953 Coronation Medal and a GVI Police LSGC Medal named to "Inspr. Harry Shaw". With the group is the box containing his Defence medal addressed to "Mr. H. Shaw, 3 Grasmere Road, Bennett Lane, Dewsbury." Any information on Inspector Shaw, and which Police Force he served with, would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance, David
    10. Hi Peter, Thanks for your reply. Would you mind posting the details of the site you have suggested as it has not come up. Regards, David
    11. Hello everyone, I am seeking information on the World War Two service of 2616214 Guardsman Jonathan Alfred Belcher, Grenadier Guards. Guardsman Belcher enlisted on 7/2/1939 and was demobbed on 24/4/1946. He apparently served in the B.E.F. in 1939/40 and in North West Europe 1944/45 with the Guards Armoured Division. His medal group consists of the 1939/45 Star, the Africa Star, the France and Germany Star, the War Medal and the French Croix de Guerre. He was also awarded the Wound Badge No. G9287. I have no idea how he qualified for the Africa Star and I would greatly appreciate any information on when, where and how he was wounded and any information about the award of the Croix de Guerre. Thanking you all in advance. Regards, David
    12. Thank you both so much. Clearly Arthur Grover was not a well man if he died in 1908. Presumably he was still a relatively young man. Once again thank you both, I always appreciate the help I get through this site. Regards, David
