    John Trumbull Poem 1782

    Coldfinger....
  2. Hello, A new addition. I've never heard of this so I can't wait to read it. Propaganda wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McFingal McFingal: a modern epic poem. Or, The town-meeting is a mock epic poem written by American poet John Trumbull. This canto, about 1500 lines, contains some verses from Thomas Gage's Proclamation, published in the Connecticut Courant for the 7th and the 14th of August 1775; it portrays a Scottish Loyalist, McFingal, and-his Whig opponent, Honorius, evidently a portrait of John Adams. This first canto was divided into two, and with a third and a fourth canto was published in 1782. thanks, barry

  5. A pastel portrait of Grace Elliot(1754-1823) by John Russell. I'm not sure if this is in fact Grace or a copy of another siiter Mrs. best/ Miss Wood. I've never had a pastel painting so it's something different. She would be 32 years old in this portrait. Grace had a very interesting life. wiki page for some info and another portrait - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grace_Elliott google books - Her Journal During the Reign of Terror https://books.google.com/books?id=5UxEAAAAIAAJ&printsec=frontcover&dq=journal+grace+dalrymple&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjt0eSNpKLUAhXr6YMKHeFVCawQ6AEIIjAA#v=onepage&q=journal grace dalrymple&f=true google books - John Russell List of 1785/86 portraits page 112 https://books.google.com/books?id=5UxEAAAAIAAJ&printsec=frontcover&dq=journal+grace+dalrymple&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjt0eSNpKLUAhXr6YMKHeFVCawQ6AEIIjAA#v=onepage&q=journal grace dalrymple&f=true
