    1. Very nice! A very popular pattern. ,,even though well worn you can see it had good detail and is of good quality. Nice thin band, well finished inside,,just everything you want to see..
    2. The Gegan pattern is a well known one, but this ring is a reprodcution. Many problems to include, poor details, band too thick ,faults and mainly incorrect construction. The ring with plane so far has turned up nothing but 'fantasy' status....
    3. document? these type pins were sold at news stands , I've asked many times while in Ukraine and the answer always was , 'if you had the money you could have bought them at the time'....,G.
    4. Francois , Thanks for posting that Banak document.. A truely fantastic collection you have of these pins!!! , G.
    5. Francois , Thanks for the photo and info. As you've guessed it is a large sized mans ring. It came from a good source. Vets family said man was in Artic early war , then recieved ring in Holland later. They said he 'assisted' paratroopers. There is no content mark [but ring is silver] or maker mark..I did see another of these rings, it was exactly the same but had a name engraved in band.. I have seen that photo [drawing?] before but have yet to see a period photo of it in wear,a pin or a ring with eagle & swastica..They could have been left off making the ring easy /comfortable to wear and without catching on pockets.. , thanks again , G.
    6. Francois , I'm not really sure myself if it was a unit pin /unit emblem. From what I've gathered it was a early war Luft. landing area in Norway.Do you have any info on this emblem. Thank you. , G.
    7. well , if he still had his first original ID tag it would be from his training/replacement unit. If a replacement tag it could be an SS tag. His soldbuch would show all the info . Is there a award of the sniper badge? or was he just a marksman?..How about some photos of buch and tag?! thanks , G. :food-smiley-004:
    8. Amazing pieces! So few originals survived. I am aware of the 2 blurry photos of the Don 5th reg. badge in wear but any photos of the 2nd Siberi or Coss. Grad school badges in wear? , thanks , G.
    9. the SS runes look to be oversize, maybe cut outs and just pasted on for photo?? Why are you calling him a 'SS sniper' ? Do you have a soldbuch or anything else for the young man? , G.
    10. Some excellent pieces! Not sure if there is one but any with a 'Banak' pin, or info on the emblem..,thanks , G.
