  1. Hi all, I used to have an aerial photo from FFA 59 dated October 1916. It showed an area named Flaucourt. So they would have been operating somewhere in this region....
  2. Hi all, Two nice portraits from ebay recently. Sorry about the marks, they were made by the sellers. Are these individuals identifiable based on their awards?
  3. Very interesting! Thanks Glenn. Does anyone know what awards appear on his ribbon bar?
  4. What can I say except wow! I tip my hat to you knowledgeable folks. Many thanks for all the replies.
  5. Hello all, Does anyone know what these awards are besides the Iron Cross? Thanks,
  6. Hi all, Thanks for your comments. I couldn't find anything matching this award online either. Attached is the photo in it's entirety - I think the name on the reverse is General Buchholz, but I've not heard of him before...
  7. Referring back to my own post (no.27) from 2014, could the name be Hptm von Hünersdorff ?
  8. The only Hptm d.R. that I have found so far is Friedrich Ludwig Eduard Otto Lehmann born 13.Feb.1885 in Munsterberg. He was is Fusilier-Regiment 36 and he marriage record is on ancestry - but I don't think he is likely to be your man. But at least you might be able to rule him out with the details above?
  9. That last one looks tough to call, although the colour of the ribbon appears to match his uniform....
  10. Hi all, This photo is believed to be of Hptm Lothar Geibel of FAR 2. Can someone tell me what awards he is wearing please? Thanks all, Matt
  11. Thanks Andreas, Like I said, I'm not an expert !
  12. Hello all, Not sure if this is the right section to be hosting this, but here goes: I am posting a few photos of Luftwaffe officers and I am hoping that you knowledgeable folk will be able to identify their awards - and perhaps even identify the wearer?! Here is the first one. Does anyone know what awards are displayed on his ribbon bar? Thanks a lot for all your help, Matt.
  13. Ok here is my second guy I posted this ebay photo on another forum but unfortunately didn't have any success there. He is wearing the Prussian Flugzeugführer-Abzeichen, the Eisener Halbmond, the Spanienkreuz with swords, and maybe the Hohenzollern (HHO3x)? Does anyone know what else? Thanks,
  14. Thanks Andreas, Interesting regarding the KVK - maybe this is the award he is wearing through the button-hole? I wasn't aware that the Friedrich-August Kreuz came with a clasp! But I'm not an expert on decorations. Your choice for number 6 appears to be a good shout. I thought it would be easy to find the answer due to the clasp, but such was not the case. The last 3? awards are unfortunately too vague for me to identify. As most of these medals were fairly common I suspect that there were a fair few officers with this combination... Thanks for your help!
  15. Hi Dave, Thanks a lot! Very well worked out sir. Also thanks to everybody for their replies
  16. Hi Andreas, Thanks a lot for your help. Here is a close-up of the ribbon bar. I am wondering if the 4th medal is the Hanseatic Cross from Bremen? It looks as though the 3rd and 6th awards have a bar across the middle.
  17. Hi guys, Thanks a lot for your replies. Here is the full page (Kurt Anders is at the bottom).
  18. Hi all, I wondered if anyone could tell me what award this abbreviation above the EK2 signifies (SRVM?). The man in question was a Gefreiter in Jäger Battalion 2 in 1914. And he was born in Reichenau (Zittau) if this helps? Oh, and this is from the Bavarian archives. The guy's name is Kurt Anders and his date of birth was 17.06.1893. Thanks a lot.
  19. Hi Gunnar, Thanks a lot! The signature comes from an aerial photo dated 26 July 1916. Do you know exactly when Hptm Karl Schwab left the command? Hi Andy, This man is mentioned as a Ltn in the Verlustlisten in 1914 - he was from Ulm, Württemberg. Thanks all !
