    1. Hi all Can someone give me any information on this truncheon that I've seen. How much do you think I should bid for it?
    2. Can anyone help with some information on this small truncheon. I'm after any information and a possible valuation.

    3. Brian, these are exactly what I'm after to display my small collection, I've seen others displayed in the same way. I didn't realise people had made them themselves, I was hoping there was somewhere to purchase them. I also like the Bobbies helmet stand, as I have a spare one which I want to display, especially as my Force has now changed the design slightly.
    4. I'm after a tipstaff to add to my small collection of police truncheons, can anyone point me in the direction of some good sites that may assist with my search? I've spoken to my local auction houses who will contact me if they get one for sale.
    5. Do either of you have any pictures of how you've displayed yhem?
    6. I haven't posted for a while, but i am after some ideas for ways of displaying my wooden truncheons. I would like to display 5 together, any ideas would be gratefully received.
    7. As some of you may know, I'm a serving Police Officer working in Plymouth, currently on a Response team. I have recently started a collection of antique Truncheons, and I now have two......but it's early days yet! Something that I would really like to add to my collection is a Truncheon or Tipstaff from Plymouth, and so I'm hoping that if anyone is aware of such items for sale, could they please let me know. The reason I'm asking this on here is because there are members from all over the world, and I'm pretty sure these items are probably scattered all over the globe now. Look forward to hearing from anyone with information. Regards Tim
    8. Mervyn and Ayedeeyew Just to let you know that I've made contact with someone from the Met Police Heritage Centre, and I should be speaking to him tomorrow re my truncheon.....work permitting of course I will let you know what I find out. Tim
    9. Hi Steve Thanks for your input, it all sounds very interesting. The makers name format seems to be - Hebbert & Co London I have also found another W D with a pussers arrow in between, near the tip of the truncheon as well. I look forward to any further info on this truncheon. Regards Tim
    10. Well I have just received my first Victorian Truncheon to start my collection off. It is by a company called Hebbert & Co London, and also stamped into the rounded end on the handle is W D with what I believe is a pusser's arrow between the letters. Stamped into the wood near the bottom of the painted area is an E with the numbers 512 below, Also stamped just above the painted VR is, a B with a 4 and a 3 below - B 4 3 Hopefully someone can tell me a bit more about the Truncheon. I also have a J Hudson & Co whistle........a small start, but at least I've finally started. Regards Tim
    11. Unfortunately I was outbid on the item, I guess I left it too late to find his/hers limit! The item went for £330 in the end. I would like to say thank you to Brian for standing aside on the bidding, hopefully you will forgive me for not getting, as you may well have put in a very strong bid initially to acquire it. Just out of curiosity, how much would you all have gone up to to secure it? Thanks for all your help, I guess I will have to wait a while longer before my collection starts. However I'm looking forward to doing some research into the area. Kind Regards Tim
    12. I have recently seen this item for sale, and I am hoping to start a small collection of antique truncheons from the Police Forces of Great Britain. It is on sale for £300, what do you think, and can anyone tell me about it. I am very new to this, and am currently waiting for the book 'The Policemans Lot' by Mervyn Mitton to arrive, to hopefully help me out. But in the meantime I would appreciate any assistance that you can give. Thanks in advance Tim
