    1. Hi there,

i have this DLV membership badge and i wonder if its a real one or a copy. The quality in hand is amazing. Three piece construction with hard enamel on the red areas and the swastika. Purely from the quality its fine, i think, i just have never seen one on a stickpin or in multiple piece construction.

      Thanks,

      Gerd

    2. I had this in my odds and ends box for years and allways thought it to be some kind of schützenfest relatet cap badge or something, but only today i found out, its probably a Freikorps cap/collar badge of the Freiwilliges Landesschützenkorps (according to weitze at least). Its really well made and heavy for a hollowback badge and the frosted finish is pretty neat.

      Is this a legit piece?

      Enjoy Albania...

You'll be wanting a copy of Eric Shena's The Decorations of Socialist Albania - available as a free PDF here: http://www.gmic.co.uk/uploads/Albania2.pdf

      Thanks, Megan.

I have a hardcopy from Eric´s book, as i helped him a little bit with material for his book back then, but thanks for the link, its good to have a copy on the computer too.

Edit: I just noticed, its an extended version. Even better!

    4. Hello gentlemen,

i am a total novice, when it comes to Uniforms and Insignia and i would appreciate your input to this KM breasteagle. I have checked several dealerwebsites and forums to find a similar one, but i didn´t. I don´t have a good feeling about it, as it looks kind of crude to my noob eyes. Also the gap on the left wing was one thing, that i didn´t find on any "accepted originals".

Thanks in advance for any help

      best,

    6. Hi gents,

i have this Kriegschronik of a Reserve Lieutenant of the Inf.Reg.190, which is unfortunately stained with coffee, like it seems. Luckily only two of the stains expand into the actual picture. I thought about cleaning it, but i have been told to better leave it alone and thats probably the best advice. It´s still nice though. Take a look:

I really like the artwork on this piece. Were these made personally for every soldier or was there a "blueprint" of these Chronicles?

    7. Hello there,

    8. Here are some of my ribbonbars. All of them are of the D-profile type and i believe they are all real.

Lets start with what i think is a double Red Banner of Labor and a meritious Labor in GPW medal:SovietLaborRB2.jpg.0f42946eaad099eafde9c

Next up is a slightly strange ribbonbar with a Lenin, Red Banner of Labor, and a meritious Labor in GPW:SovietLaborRB3.jpg.ea9025164b84dc2d2a5f0

This one has a Badge of honor:SovietLaborRB5.jpg.63ac6966e2408e2dcb705

Medal for Valiant Labor and Meritious Labor in GPW and Veteran of Labor:SovietLaborRB8.jpg.5479fe61416f5e1579599

      Medal for Valiant Labor:SovietLaborRB7.jpg.48a1da8a4430b6dacf94c

and this one. Okay, its just a Veteran of Labor Medal but i really like it:SovietRB1.jpg.f9adf09cfbedca6f9d37f2099c
