    1. Hi, and this is the titel of his disseratation: ¬Ein Fall von Tetanus mit interessantem Rückenmarksbefunde. GreyC
    2. Hi, as I collect German CDV´s I got this one recently. On the back it says in relatively new hand Danish Life Guard. However the photo was taken at a studio in Altenberg in Saxony in the late 1870s, early 1880s. There is plenty of info on the studio available, but why should a Danish Life Guard have been photographed so far from home? A royal visit, perhaps? Or is it not a Danish soldier and he is from a different army? The bear skin cap seems to indicate Danmark, though. Can anybody help ID the nationality and unit of this chap, please? The shoulderboard shows a crown and a cipher. Thank you! GreyC
    3. The KTB of the 102. Inf. Div. for the time in question has survived and can be accesses at the National Archive. See here for details: https://www.deutsche-digitale-bibliothek.de/item/LZ53GQFCQUCF7RX7KABWWWTEEURXITGG GreyC Btw you seem to have put this question on other platforms and already gotten some infos beyond what you posted here. Why don´t you put it all upl, so that people who want to help you don´t waste time collecting infos you already have? GreyC
    4. Hi, seen this? Gives unit and rank. GreyC https://www.trave-militaria.de/archiv/2228-anerkennungsurkunde-und-ehrenblatt-dr.-horst-wieckert.htm
    5. Hi, these are informations that will help narrow it down, don´t you think? Interestingly there is no officer by the name of Baum listed in the Ehrenrangliste or it´s appendices who served with a Saxon unit. GreyC
    6. Hi, I am not sure. Did you notice the osmanic medal (Galipoli Star) and is he wearing a turkish belt buckle? A high res close up might help. The hat also points east. Could I have a scan of the back with name and possible address of the photo-studio, please? GreyC
    7. Hi, I know Dresden was bombed and destroyed heavily during WW2. But have you asked at the Dresden Stadtarchiv if the Melderegister of that period of 1914 etc has survided. He wont´have been listed as soldier. But if he had lived in Dresden as civilian and if the Melderegister of that time still exists you should find him in it. Lot´s of ifs I am afraid.... GreyC
    8. If you mean the tassel, it shows to what battailon and company he belonged. He was part of the 1st company, most likely. GreyC
    9. Hi, interesting document. I wonder if Hptm. Schön was active in a different (hanseatic) regiment before coming to the RIR25. He got the award during a time in which the regiment had been stationed in Metz for quite some time (from July 1915 onwards to 1917) with no real chance to do something worth being awarded the Hanseatenkreuz for. Happy Easter, GreyC
    10. Hi, the Ehrenrangliste 1914-18 of 1926 lists a Körner as Major a.D. with the FAR 52 with no further info which means that he spent his whole time with this regiment and was given leave after the war. No regimental history seems to be known. GreyC
    11. Hi, I am not into medals at all, but Baden had ribbons in these colours, e.g the Badische Kriegsverdienskreuz (though this isn´t it). But maybe some other medal from that state? GreyC
    12. Hi, if you google "Gau Ehrenzeichen Thüringen" you´ll find loads of pics to compare. GreyC
    13. I second hucks216 opinion und would like to add that his name was not Kuhn but Kühn. GreyC
    14. Good thing you did. I thought of WW1 but now it´s clear its a tunic of 1935 or later. Here is a good summary of AR 64 ´s organisation/history http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/Gliederungen/ArtReg/Gliederung.htm GreyC
    15. Hi, not my field of expertise, try: http://h2385226.stratoserver.net/wbb4/index.php/BoardList/ GreyC
    16. Hi, chances are they were mentioned in the regimental history which is downloadable here: http://digital.wlb-stuttgart.de/sammlungen/sammlungsliste/werksansicht/?no_cache=1&tx_dlf[id]=3970 GreyC
    17. Hi, it would be easier if you´d shown the whole jacket, as from the label it is not clear if he belonged to Fuß-Artillerie or Feld-Artillerie. As there seemingly was no Fuß-Artillerie Regiment of that number he must have served with the Saxon FAR 64. There is a regimental history of this unit, but as he was no officer chances are slim he is mentioned in it. Wagner, Erich: "Das 5. Kgl. Sächs. Feldartillerie-Regiment Nr. 64". Dresden 1922, 142 Seiten (Band 4 des sächs. Anteils der Erinnerungsblätter). Probably the reason why he was called Kühn II is that Kühn I, given name Arno of same regiment, served in the 2nd Batterie. He was killed in action 1916. Kühn II seems to have survived the war unharmed. GreyC
    18. Hi Hopsi, please provide all the information available at the beginning of a request, it makes things a lot easier for those prepared to help. Please scan photos front and back, if there are any information on the reverse in the future. Photo with that address was taken between 1864-67. Best, GreyC
    19. I´d have an idea if you could supply a Hausnummer. GreyC
    20. Hi, are there addresses on the CDVs and if so which? GreyC
