    1. I love that pic of the young fella! Looking at his tie and the band with swaz it made me wonder if this little piece of cloth with swaz that i picked up recently, is for that very purpose! Interesting to say the least.... Can anyone confirm this...or is it for something else?? I also picked up a Silk handkercheif, ( well thats what size it is!) which is in the form of the Nazi flag period i am sure but no markings ( has a couple of moth holes) Enclosed is the pic of the Wee tie band. Oh! so there were many units on the eastern front ...Hmmm, i was led to believe that this bar was unusual due to the fact that there was two bravery decorations from different states. Yes the Hesse Silver bravery medal is Silver with Fur Tapfurkeit on the reverse The Karl of Austria medal has Fortitvdini on its reverse and yes the colour is deep. Where can i possibly veiw one of these documents you mention?? Thankyou for your time! Best regards Paul

My Grandad was awarde an 18Yr long service and good conduct medal haere in NZ for the ( Now defunct) Airforce. He called it 18years of undetected crime! lol Thankyou again Rick! Marvellous stuff!     5. Hello Gents, I have a new medalbar which has created interest as to where this particular NCO would have served...as it is unusual to see Hessan and Austrian bravery awards on one bar... Comments appreciated also any info on the particular unit he served in. Thanking you in advance! Regards Paul
