    1. Guys, got this photo from the grave of saxon Major and St. Henry winner Johannes Kückens, born 1871, who fell July 15th 1918 near Souain as regimental cdr. IR 105. Any idea where this grave has been? No mention in Volksbund database so I suppose he was buried on a cemetary behind the lines and later exhumed and laid to rest at home. Gruß Stefan
    2. Gentlemen, got this nice card from ebay. Someone able to identify his medalbar? PS: don´t take that too serious Gruß Stefan
    3. Same archive: military photo collection https://www2.landesarchiv-bw.de/ofs21/olf/struktur.php?bestand=6592 Incredible! Gruß Stefan
    4. Don´t know if this was posted before. An exellent source fo FREE https://www2.landesarchiv-bw.de/ofs21/olf/einfueh.php?bestand=6597 Gruß Stefan
    5. The formidable Dresden state library has now all 3 vol. of this scarce basis work online Schuster/Francke: Geschichte der Sächsischen Armee Bd. 1 Schuster/Francke: Geschichte der Sächsischen Armee Bd. 2 Schuster/Francke: Geschichte der Sächsischen Armee Bd. 3 Gruß Stefan
    6. Nice Picture! He was a former Reserve-Officer of GR 101 "Kaiser Wilhelm, König v. Preußen, transferred to Landwehr 1895 and back to the reserve of GR 101 on 07. Sept. 1916. On the shoulderboard on your pic. he´s wearing the cypher "WR I" with crown. On that time he was the CO of 1. Ersatz-Bat./IR 134 and your photo is with great possibility from this date. I also have a photo of him with officers from Ersatz-Bataillon /Landwehr-IR 107, ca. August-Sept. 1914 where he is pictured without Litzen, SB not visible. Hoffmann was a somewhat famous pharmacist in Baden-Baden, that´s why he´s wearing the Zähringer. He later lived in Wiesbaden and died in 1947 look here: MATTIACA Schutzhütten Curt-Hoffmann-Hütte Gruß Stefan PS: could I have a clearer scan of it for my database? Thank you.
    7. But absolutely no gleam about the third guy. Looks like he´s wearing an EK2 1870. My first thought was Kriegsministerium but with an 1870 EK would tend to an General. Gruß Stefan
    8. The Ulanen-guy could be Rittmeister Georg von Römer, Ulanen-Rgt. 17, on duty-command to the king´s sons from 1906-1909. Is he wearing a Red Eagle Order 4?
    9. But I worry who are the other 3 guys. The 2nd ist most likely Georg Baron O´Byrn, military governor of the princes, in the uniform of GR 101.
    10. Gentlemen, I have this nice Tellgmann photo in my collection. It shows us all three Sons of King Frederic August III. in their Leibgrenadier-Uniforms. Crown Prince Georg (1rst), Ernst Heinrich (3rd) and Friedrich Christian (4th.) On the backside there´s a handwritten inscription which dates it from 1904. But I think it was taken between 1906-1909/10.
    11. OK, to make a long story short: look your post http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/36413-my-saxon-collection/?p=339584 click that link http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ludwig_Wolff_%28General_der_Infanterie%29 and hear that song: Gruß Stefan
    12. Christophe, is this chap familiar to you? IR 104, taken 1914 in Chemnitz. Unfortunately no inscription or something.
    13. Hm, both links work on my computer. But no matter: send me your mail and I´ll send you a PDF. Gruß Stefan

    18. Hi Dave. The responsibility of the Landwehrbezirke (the saxon ones especially) is an interesting topic for me. Can you mention me some reference works? Gruß Stefan
