    1. Sto, lots wrong with it to be honest, should have no tab on it, triangle chest feathers, bad catch & prongs, incorrect makers mark, compare this one to an original, you will see the differences Dieser Schloss ist nicht gut meine fruend :banger:
    2. Hey Rob, the late war grey buckles did mostly have the brown painted prongs but this one is an earlier one, look at the green paint on the prongs :)
    3. Got to agree with Rob, the Angolia and Nash books are the best around
    4. It is believed that the "Leather Support tab" as it was known was used to help support the weight of the ammo pouch that was worn on the right hand side. This was probably adopted from a WW1 practise, however the order to stop using tabs came out in 1942 to save leather and it was deemed no use anyway. There are some 1943 dated tabs around, mostly on police buckles but they are like hens teeth :D
    5. The roundel is an original, I have seen many of these on Alu two piece buckles, not sure about the box. If that is ok looks like someone has soldered a alu roundel to a SA brass box, original but tampered :banger:
    6. Hi Rob, my pleasure mate the normal buckles are just like another steel Heer buckle as regards to value and worth, the crank catch buckles are much more scarce so of more value, hope this helps?
