Thanks! Here's another that just arrived today.. Nothing much to say about it other than it is inscribed "Philippines 1945". Sorry for the pics.. This one was difficult for some reason. J
Hey Jon, nice lid there... What make is it? I'm quessing a Q... Any chance of a liner shot?? Looks good. Just how I like them.. With that "used" look... J
Continued... Here's one that just came in the mail today... This ring was made (most likely by a soldier) during his stay in Oran, North Africa in 1943, as part of Operation Torch. This one, as my Grandfather's has a nice weight to it and is a large size, although, not in mint condition, still very cool.
Here's another of my favorite family bring home items... Early-mid, 1st model Luft officer dagger. Not the greatest condition because it was hanging around the basement since the war and wasn't really cared for.. It bears no maker's mark.
You know... After really having a look, I agree with Adam... Some of the examples seem to set off the red flag alert, but regardless, still a good site to learn about the helmet and its construction... J
I see some of my friends already have their M1's posted on this awesome website about one of my favorite collectibles - THE M1 HELMET!!... http://www.m-1helmet.com/ This is the best reference so far that I've seen online... J
This one belonged to my grandfather. It was also used as his wedding ring when he married my Grandmother in Lyon whom he'd met and fell in love with there during the war. J
