The original Medal of Valor ribbon bar was red with 5 white stars and was created for the Philippine Constabulary in 1901 and the ribbon added in 1918. I t was re-established in 1946 ??. The current version is red with 8 gold colored metal stars attached and is now a neck decoration.
Does anybody know when the medal / ribbon bar was changed ?? When did it become a neck decoration ??
A couple of ribbon chart sites show the current ribbon as red with 8 white stars. Did it have 8 embroidered white stars before they became gold metal stars ??

Loking for information on, and pictures of, Philippines medals ..... especially the Red Cross, "Blueguard" private security guards, and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology.
I collect ribbon bars and short pieces of ribbon and can trade US and Canadian ribbons for Philippine ribbons.

I have a listing of all Blue Guard medals and what they are awarded for but have not found any pictures. Can anyone provide color pics or link to a site that has a ribbon chart ??
Also can trade Canadian and US ribbon for any Philippine ribbon.
