    4. I would like to ask your help to collect more information for 1877-8-9 clasped SOUTH AFRICA MEDAL Recipient Pte F.J. HALL C.M. RIFLES.
    5. This Ottoman Empire Silver Buyuk Imtiyaz Medal (Grand Medal of Distinction) was named to Mirliva (Major General) Von Rüdgisch Pasha on 1899.
    6. Claudio, it says exactly "Graf Ferdinand".Of course that doesn't mean its %100 Graf Zeppelin. If there other Graf Ferdinands exist, it could be one of them as well. The inscription its not new. Unfortunately the Medal was cleaned once, so there is no patina left. Also I took the picture under the light to show better details of that engraving,so it is a little shiny. Also, lets say you are engraving a medal and trying to look like honoring Graf Zeppelin, why not directly engraving the name "Zeppelin" ?? If thats the whole point ,don't you think that would of make everything easier?? Regards

    9. Hello Stuart, This is not a medal,it's a silver coin AH1327 regnal year 6 10 Kurush Egypt /Ottoman Empire. Best wishes, Muhittin
    10. Neither makes it bad!! What is the criteria of quality Don?? Why is all of them different then the official made Turkish War Medal?? Regards
    11. I think the company made handful of this Medals, but probably didn't meet the quality standards and they just discontinue making them. I did find another piece sold on German eBay in the past, but unfortunately the seller did not post the reverse picture of the medal on his listing. He described the medal as; Imperial German World War I 1st Class Turkish Gallipoli Badge The dimensions are 2 1 /4 inches wide by 2 1/4 inches tall Has a maker mark on re verse marked "Preissler Pforzheim" Has a thin horizontal pin back This is a five pointed star with red painted high-lights Nickel construction Very good plus condition
    12. A German badge made by the same company with the same letters, actually exact same pinback.. So this must be a fake badge as well..
    13. Yes, in general if you are planning to make fakes and make money out of it,you will find your way to do it,but my point is specifically this piece. The only piece ever seen by this maker.
    14. I do see your point Chris, but why would you take your time and just make one fake piece like that? Does it really worth that effort, time and the money?? My point is,we have members here collecting for 30-40 years and not even one person have seen any other piece made by the same maker. Let's say someone wants to make money by making Gallipoli Stars, why this quality?? How could you make money with this quality star?? Why not Godet? Or Meybauer ? I am sure that person would make a fortune if he would go with one of this makers.. regards, Muhittin
    15. We have many experienced GMIC collector members here.I have been collecting for over 10 years and never seen any other piece like this. When a piece appears it doesn't mean necessarly it's a fake piece! I would recommend instead of calling the piece a "fake" just research. Regards Muhittin
    16. Are we sure that this piece is really a fake piece? Did any other Collector have seen another example made by this specific company? If it's fake, what is the purpose of making a fake Star?I am sure making this star will cost more then purchasing a genuine one..
    17. Your friends Imtiyaz Medal looks OK to me...as we know Imtiyaz Medal was established in 1882,and came in two classes, gold and silver. I would recommend your friend to make sure that this piece is silver, also the weight should be 21-22 grams and 37.5mm in dimension.
