Thank you Mervyn...I will give that search a try. The price on the badge in question is about 40-45 pounds....so it seems like a reasonable price and not over inflated, been caught on that a couple of times only to find out latter I should have paid less!..lol
Yes it's been a while since I've posted...I do vistit the pinned post on RCMP badges...great post that one
I recently had the opportunity to aquire a 1950's pattern (gold wire) RCMP officers hat badge but wouldn't mind some input if anyone knows about them.
I have only seen the badge in question in photos on a cap, and off course the one I may aquire, but I'll attach a pic showing 2 of the variations. Are these realy rare?..any Idea on the value?
Cheers, Ivan

Yea those logos are from "RCMP E Div. Pipe Band" they are out of Vancouver B.C. They were formed in April of 2006.
The ones I posted are how they look in parade, I am thinking the ones you have were not used in actual parade because they are incorrect, being that the logos run the wrong way and that if you hung them on the base drone of the pipe the logos would face the wrong way because the long side of the banner would be at the end. Maybe they were made as samples? or they are simply manufacturer error...I wonder if Emblazon Embroidery Co. made these? or maybe Gastaldo tailors.
As for the B.A B.....well it's not Alberta that's "K Div".......You could email them and ask . Very nice to have though
Yes for sure that would be!...one of our family friends and mentor is a retired RCMP A/Comm. and I had had asked him about the cap and he said ..."Yes at one time I had one of those horrible hats but its in hat heaven and got there soon after they changed to something wearable" .....So that sounds promising

This is my newest cap in my collection. Manufactured by William Scully Ltd., The date tag reads 21-7-1974, it has the narrow twill stripe that matched the pants and a cloth covered visor and no mesh ventalation and instead had six eyelets on the underside for this.
These caps were not to popular with the force and were quickly replaced with a new pattern in 1975 which more or less resembled the 1966 pattern.
Very interesting variation of cap, I mentioned rare but maybe a better word would be obscure?....they seem hard to locate but I have not been collecting long enough to really know but just wanted to share my find.
Yes your quite right! ....they are very similar, The ones the force used in the 1940s was apparently a commercially available hunting cap....Source : Dr.James J. Boulton
Hey thanks!..I think ....but yes not the nicecest looking thing, try to visualize a pilot wearing one with the headphones on; So they were limeted to Air div. members, northern posts with dog sled ect. and the last of them were issued to members serving in aiport disater units as well..nice thing about this cap is the condition is unused near mint...it basically sat in someones closet for the last 35+ years :D
