Again another soldier with no apparent identification, I am thinking WW1 post WW1, Hungarian? Bulgarian ?? Austrian ?? I am sure he is not from Romania.

I believe French because of French writing to the rear and a date 1940, any help with a translation please?

    Hello Kevin,

the postcard, being printed in Versailles, must be French but the handwriting on its reverse is definitely not. Could be an Eastern European language ...

    Cheers,

    Hendrik

Kev, since you're in Deva, isn't the writing on the reverse in Romanian?

Hallo Dave, thanks for the translation, I have trouble reading my own handwriting, and thats in English :P

No! seriously, I was trying to figure out was the guy a Romanian in the French Army, (I know pre WW1 and post WW1 there were very strong ties with France,) if so which, side did he serve, i.e. Vichy or Free France, and I also was hoping that the style of uniform might i d his branch of service, in the picture he looks factory fresh, but no insignia, emblems etc..etc..
