Collection of EK2's

Recommended Posts

I have a new camera and have decided to post pictures of my EK2's. Hopefully they will be of use to someone. Some I have questions on, such as unmarked ones, others are pretty straight forward. Please feel free to comment on any of them and let me know if they're all good. Hope the pictures are alright.

First up is a KO. I hear there are diffrent cores for these. Can anyone tell which one this is? Thanks for looking.

This is a good one-"KO" is the maker with the most variations,so this one here(without seeing the maker mark) looks very good to me.Wartime made and in very good condition. It would be interesting how many different "KOs" 2nd class we could find here.....

Thanks Micha. Good to know my pieces are genuine. This next one is in nice shape but ummarked. If anyone has any ideas about the maker or other comments that would be great. I'm not sure if the pictures are good enough to tell however. Not much daylight around here these days. This piece has wider than normal flanges and not alot of detail in the crown.

Here's another. Man, this is alot of work. This is marked ED. I bought it as an FD but I don't think there is such a thing. I've been advised it's an ED. These maker marks can be hard to figure out sometimes. That small bit of rust is only visible in the photo.

Here's one I'd like some help with. I bought it as an S marked cross but the mark on the ring is hard to read. Could be an S but I'm not sure. Does anyone have an S marked cross that this could compare to? Does it look like an S? Thanks for looking.

Here's an interesting one. It has a zinc core. It's marked on the ring with that sqaure punch mark. Not sure if it's a maker mark, a quality control mark or something else. I'm not sure if anyone really knows. I really like this variant.

Happy New Year everyone. This cross here has been a mystery to me. It came with a full ribbon and a 39 spange attached. This piece has 2 different markings on it, both on the small ring that is attached to the cross itself, not the ring the ribbon attaches to. Even with a 15x loup I cannot make out either mark. One appears to be some sort of stylized symbol, and the other one maybe 3 numbers or letters. I just cannot tell. There's no way I can get a picture of these marks either. If anyone has any idea about what these marks may be or knows who the maker is that would be great.
