    Cased screwback EK1

    Recommended Posts

No red flags at the moment-I just want to see the crown,W and the date to compare it with some pieces in my own picture database. I've got a screwback EK in my collection that could have the washer you need-it's not the same type of course, but here's a pic of the reverse.

Hi Micha. Here is the only other photo I took yesterday.

Your cross does have a very similar small screw device to mine.

For info, the recess in my case is about 3.5 or 3.6 cm across. How does your screwplate measure?

"IF" the backingplate is original to the cross, then it does not seem right to replace

    it with another backingplate.

    -------just my opinion

If you look at picture 15 you can see a discoloration which seems to indicate that there was a larger plate at some point.

I did notice that and thought that possibly that was where the cross was resting in

the case. If it is not the correct backingplate then I would most likely do what I could

    to make the set right.
