Chris Boonzaier
I guess he was at the stage when he just yawned when he got another medal. Its nice to get another gong for your chest... but just to be able to add a 10th little star must make you feel a bit cheated...imagine if it was the Russian system and he actually wore 12 wound medals and god knows how many Croix de guerres !!! Jacky
Well, legion d'honneur Medaille militaireWound medal (star) with a number of citations, then a long ribbon with a lot of stars... which must be the Croix d'Guerre TOE (for foreign operations) with a lot of citations.behind this one is also the croix d'guerre for WW2 with only 2 citations. Chris Boonzaier
I think he had 14 citations for the TOE.... I bet you could have made a war film based on his life story ;-)
Bernhard H.Holst
Hello Chris. He looks like Adj.Chef Vanden Berghe (sp.) , commanding a Commando in Tonkin . He was a legend in his time and died under suspicous cicumstances ( killed by a member of his unit??) never saw him but we heard a lot about him. Of course much gained in the telling.Bernhard H.
