MStMV2s from the "C" Roll. Laufende Nummern down far left on original and far right on transcription-- total so far down far left on that. ACTUAL SIZE AS VIEWED

    and the same entries transcribed:

before being alphabetized and Krause-formatted. Data in red and brackets already added by me in 1st pass as typed.

Which would you prefer thousands and thousands (and thousands) of lines of? :catjava:

Since I already have both enormously heavy tomes and Daniel has no new stuff for me to slave over, I am winnowing out the NONCOMBATANT Saxe-Meiningen 1914-19 War Merit Medals from the :speechless1::speechless1: 23,000 or so total that are overwhelmingly on combatant ribbons.

The "SMM-NK"s were not included in our Triple Ernestine Duchies WW1 award rolls volume because the recipients are normally not traceable, being rear area/overaged NCO types.

But since it is perpetually freakishly COLD that there is NO melting, NO thawing-- and thus not a thing I can do beyond what I have done for the ice problems here... will type these SMM-NKs up out of boredom.

At least that will result in finally knowing how many there were. :catjava:

Now, going through the first 200 pages (to beginning of August 1915) of the SMM roll today ( 14 to a page = 2,800 entries)--

2,643 were combatant ribbons (and mercifully NOT typing THOSE  )

    while only

157 were on the noncombatant ribbon

which works out to about 1: 17 for non-combatant:combatant--so far.

    Of the 157

71 were to civilians (3 of these changed to combatant ribbon later or revoked)

    and

86 were to military personnel (of which 17 were to Saxons-- and 4 of the 86 total revoked)

    ....

SMM-NK Roll completed. And now I know. :catjava:

...some results of my database...at first Anhalt

    Hi Werner

from when to when is this Anhalt list? I would be very interested in some recipients in the 2nd half of the 19th century. Do you have such kind of data for all classes?

    regards

    David
