A pic of the Chief of Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, general Ljubisa Dikovic, visit Madrid with the Spanish Chief of Defence130703-visita-jemad-servio-2.jpg

Thanks for sharing that picture. Notice the first ribbon on his ribbon bar, it's for Order of the National Hero. 37th motorized brigade was awarded with that decoration while he was it's commander.

Those are ribbons for decorations of Republic of Serbia introduced in 2009. First row is Order of the Serbian Flag (Орден српске заставе) although I think that the stripes should be yellow, not white. Second row is Order of the Star of Karageorge (Орден Карађорђеве звезде), third Order of Sretenje (Candlemas) (Сретењски орден). First ribbons in all three rows represent the look of sashes, neck ribbons and the triangular "chest" ribbons used for those orders, others are for first, second and third grade.

Fourth row, from left to right Golden medal for zealous service (Златана медаља за ревносну службу), Silver medal for zealous service (Сребрна медаља за ревнсосну службу), Golden Miloš Obilić bravery medal (Златна медаља за храброст Милош Обилић) Silver Miloš Obilić bravery medal (Сребрна медаља за храброст Милош Обилић). And the last row Golden medal for merits (Златна медаља за заслге) and Silver medal for merits (Сребрна медаља за заслуге).

Serbia today has three more orders not represented on table above, Order of Republic of Serbia - 2 grades (Орден Републике Србије) Order of the White Eagle with swords - 3 grades (Орден белог орла са мачевима) and Order of merit for defense and security - 3 grades (Орден заслуга за одбрану и безбедност).

    Regards,

    Radmilo

    • 3 months later...

I believe that three more orders were instituted later but I was not able to determine when exactly. Those are:

    01. Order of the Flag of Republic of Srpska (Орден заставе Републике Српске)

    02. Order of St. Petar Zimonjić (Орден светог Петра Зимоњића)

    03. Order of Honor (Орден части)

The National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska instituted Order of the Flag of Republic of Srpska and Order of Honor on the 25th of July 2002.

Order of the Flag has two clases - Order of the Flag of Republic of Srpska with Golden Wreath (1st class) and Order of the Flag of Republic of Srpska with Silver Wreath (2nd class).

That also goes for the Order of Honor - Order of Honor with Golden Rays (1st class) and Order of Honor with Silver Rays (2nd class).

Order of Honor with Golden Rays is 12th in order of precedence and can be awarded to institutions, organizations and individuals for contribution in affirmation of civil rights, tolerance among people and nations, rule of law and liberties and also to individuals and organizations who have contributed to strengthening the reputation of the Republic of Srpska with their public work and achievements .

I apologize for bad translation, translating these criteria is always a bit of a problem for me.

Here's the only picture I managed to find, unfortunately black and white and pretty small...

Milorad Dodik posthumously awarding Srđan Aleksić (on the right) with the Order of Honor. Srđan was a Serb from Trebinje (Herzegovina) who lost his life while saving his Muslim friend during war. The order was received by his father.
