even if he WAS the world's oldest Oberleutnant, he was wa snappy dresser and had an impressive array of awards .

Contemporary photo of Hans Winkelmann, 2. M.G.K., Reichswehr Regt. 16, dated 12.12.1920.

He wears the SA 2nd class ribbon looped through his pocket button-hole and a typical issued blackened metal SA 1st class on his pocket.

Nice to see more of your work!!

The guy is a twin of a guy I used to work with!!

Hi Chris, there's no reference to the post but if you are referring to my colourisation, thanks, as you know I try to get it right, if it's not about my post, then oops I will feel like a total idiot!!, If you worked with his twin, I assume he didn't arrive at work dressed like that :speechless1:

    regards

    Alex

Feldwebel of the Freiwilligentruppen der 32. Reichswehr-Brigade / Freiwillige 12. (Schlesische) Infanterie-Division. He wears the insignia of this unit consisting of a silvered pine bow collar badge and a Danzig skull between the cap cockades.

The was no German white SA. Only the Polish had a white SA. It's probably a silvered or gilt version. They were made in different finishes beside black.

Nice photo, but I think, that he only is Gefreiter.

    Kind regards
