Sandro, I just don't know what to say! I've run out of complimentary words to say about your beautiful, awe-inspiring collection. :jumping::jumping:

Yes, even without the lable that left sleeve on the dragoner coat was a giveaway. :Cat-Scratch:

    Chip, Vince,

Many thanks for the kind words. Vince, the decorations, although to my knowledge not originally owned by the owners of the tunics shown, are not filler pieces.

May have some further pics to post in the next few weeks, so watch this space.

    Best regards,

    Sandro

A few more, general from Mecklenburg-Schwerin. Rankinsignia are for a Generaloberst im Range eines Generalfeldmarschalls but although the boards are original, I?m not sure whether anyone ever held that rank in the Mecklenburgische Armee. Possibly, a previous owner added one or two pips. Still, a very rare tunic.

    Sandro,

Have you finish your Mecklenburg-Schwerin General's display?

This is a brilliant thread! I must say, I haven´t seen it before...

Unfortunately I don´t have any rare uniforms or parts, just photos, and I want you to show some of my rarest photos.

    1) Königs-Schießabzeichen for saxon MG-troops

    2) Fahnenträger-Abzeichen Mecklenburg-Schwerin. I. or II./89

    3) A member of an INA (Infanterie-Nachrichten-Abteilung)

Have you ever seen a Fahnenträger-Abzeichen of this unit? Every bopok only shows paintings...

It's amazing how much of Wilhelm II's stuff is showing up in private collections. I know he had tons of uniforms and not all of them would have ended up at Doorn, but where are these coming from? I have asked repeatedly if anyone knows if Doorn was thinning out the collection, perhaps to keep the museum open, but no one has revealed anything to this point. Perhaps the source is kept secret for good reason?

How many uniforms did WII have? I've heard over 100 field gray and probably as many color. I wonder how many foreign uniforms he had.

    Austrian

    England

    Russia

    Ottoman

    Bulgaria

    Etc

And how many for each country?

I really think Sandro should sale me his WII field gray tunic...
