The September-October JOMSA [pp 35-39] contains a 5 page illustrated article on Seychelloise {?} military {?} awards. Although the piece lacks specific regulatory or administrative information, the photos may be useful.

    Hello, gents.

I'm searching on web for awards of some African countries, such as Guinea-Bisau, Mauritius, Mozambique, San-Tome and Principe, Seychelles, Eritrea and Zambia. But there is quite no information. ohmy.gif

Does anybody have info on these states?

    Regards, Ivan

In a report from UN ( ONUCI ),it said that General Abdoulaye Fall ,the Senegal Army Head of Staff was awarded a "Louvor" from Guinea Bissau.

The translation of louvor is "homage" in french,so I guess it's "tribute" in english.

Anyway no more info and even if there is some picture of General Fall available on the net,not clear enough to see if he wear something which is really unknown....

On 4th april 2010 there was a large military Parade in Dakkar for the 50th anniversary of independence from Senegal,if someone has a cleaer picture of General Fall there it would be nice to be posted here.

But maybe this " Louvor " of Guinea Bissau is a bronze non-wearable large medal ,or just a document ?

General Fall was ounce Commandant of ONUCI ( UN Forces in Ivory Coast ) and here is the email of the speaker of ONUCI Jean Viktor Nkolo : nkolo@un.org

This is a picture of General Abdoulaye Faye with its ribbon bar.

First row : Officer National Order of the Lion (Senegal) - Officer National Order of Merit (Senegal) - Cross of Military Valour 3x times ( Senegal ) - Medal of Gendarmerie ( Senegal )

Second row : Unknown green with red edges - Commander National Order of Ivory Coast ? - Commander National Order of Mali ( 100 % sure) - Unknown commander red (but as long as I know he was not awarded Legion of Honour of France)

Third row : Commander National Order of Burkina Faso (100 % sure) - Gambia National Order - Dahomey (Benin) Officer National Order - France National Order of Merit Commander ( 100 % sure ,source ONUCI )

    Fourth row : 4 ribbon for UN Multinational Operation ( UNFIL in 1982 - UNAVEM in 1994 - ECONOG - UNOCI )

Fifth row : the left ribbon unknown ,the right ribbon might be from Germany ( Sport Award ) ?

He was Military Attaché in Morocco from 1999 to 2001,so there must be one of the unknown ribbon from the second row that is from Morocco (1st ribbon at left from 2nd row looks like the Order of the Throne from Morocco;and the second ribbon could also be Ouissam Alaouite despite it seems no white edged stripes...).

Well, the MO of IC ribbon is red without edges http://semon.fr/DECO...COTE_IVOIRE.htm, like the right one, you think it could be the LH.

    Fourth row : 4 ribbon for UN Multinational Operation ( UNFIL in 1982 - UNAVEM in 1994 - ECONOG - UNOCI )

UNOCI...hm...http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=9705&view=findpost&p=101364&hl=unoci&fromsearch=1...the ribbon seems to be turned 180°, green left and orange right.

Yes, this is the MICECI medal from the ECOWAS.

MICECI = Mission de CEDEAO en Cote d´Ivoire

ECOWAS (engl.)/CEDEAO(french) = Economic Community of West African States/Communauté économique des États de l’Afrique de l’Ouest,

Awarded 2003-04, MICECI then turned into MINUCI and ONUCI, later supported by French Opération Licorne.
