    Recommended Posts

Flieger Bluse with Heer insignia. Karl Ott a Luftwaffe Oberwerkmeister (aircraft mechanic in the rank of an Oberfeldwebel) writes that in April 1945 he and other LW ground personnel were transferred to the Luftwaffenfeldausbildungs-Division 154 under the command of Heeresgruppe Mitte (GFM Sch?rner). They were transferred to Naumburg for infantry training. Ott describes that they took off their yellow Kragenspiegel and replaced them with Grenadier Litzen. As well as the eagles on hats and tunics.

What an extraordinary photo! Funny to think that if someone chanced upon a fliegerbluse with Heer insignia, they'd assume it was due to the feverish imagination or ignorance of some wardrobe assistant in a 1950s movie costumiers.

Interesting information and photo - thanks for sharing it. Imagine the comments if that tunic were for sale at a show! (PK - you beat me to it!)
