US Army parachute?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I've recently saw this parachute offered as a oryginal US item from WW II. Seller calims it's a ,,technical" parachute whatever it means. Is it true? For what purposes it was used?

I have ZERO knowledge of US WW2 parachutes, but that fabric pattern doesn't look like anything I have ever seen from the US of that era. Closest would be some of the Marine Raider uniforms, but it really doesn't look like them. Also, it looks too new. I would bet it is post-war.... Doc

I might be wrong, but I think "Technical parachute", could mean that it's intended for dropping some sort of equipment, or supplies. Does the seller say anything about the size of the parachute?

All the best

I do not know why there are no photos of the Parachute badge,so I decided to add these of mine.It is interesting why the awards of the USA are not made in silver, but the badges are.
