Hello,

Is there a possibility to research wich planes (background info on the pilot/unit/etc ...) where downed on a certain day in WW II ?

I am looking after a Downed spitfire pilot from Tunesia on the date of 22 th april 1943.

Christopher Shores wrote a book several years ago called "Fighters Over Tunesia" I have a copy of it but it is currently burried in my storage room till I can get my library built or i would look it up for you. You can find the book for sale but the cost is very high. I paid 250 USD for mine about 5 years ago.

Thank you for the tip, i would highly appreciate it when you find the book iff you can look the date up.

I would like to share the info towards the German veteran who was along the capture from the Bitisch pilot in Tunesia. Hopefully we are able to find some info (needle in a haystack ?) as my friend the veteran is 89 years old and in rather bad health.

Here is a remambrance piece (piece of parachute silk from the Britisch pilot) that the German vet. kept all these years after the war. I do not take the line "Neffew from Churchill" very serious but all other ino is correct and relevant.
