Royal Marine Light Infantry diary E Med Sea 1917-19

    Recommended Posts

I love the comment in the diary that mentions the ship conducting steam trials, achieving 28 knots and that there is paint left on the funnels, he obviously had a great sense of humour. That is nearly as fast as some of our modern day frigates. I have had no joy with locating references to the medal yet, but I have not yet exhausted all my avenues..

Wheeler finishes his diary with this watercolour painting of ships. As I said at the start, no major battles or actions but plenty of day to day information detailing life in the Royal Navy.

Hope you Gentlemen enjoyed this and again, any help with that medal identification would be appreciated.
