Omnia Audax XXth
I originally thought that this badge may have been an old XXth of foot badge, but I now think it could be from a Guards Regiment. It is 2.5 inches high, silver but no hall mark and has 4 fixing pins at the rear (one missing )Anyone any ideas ?Thanks.Joe. leigh kitchen
Volunteer officers cross belt badge, used by a number of different units. I thought that this badge would be a Grenadier Guards one too, when I first got a gilt brass version years ago. This photo is from "Collecting Volunteer Miltaria" by RJ Wyatt (David & Charles Press 1974) is of an officers Full Dress pouch & crossbelt of the 3rd Kent Artillery Volunteers, pre - 1901. The Grenadier Guards style grenade, "on its own" in silver / white metal was used as a headress badge by some Volunteer units too.
