    HQ Scottish Command was based at Edinburgh, later at Craigiehall, in September 1939 the Command included Highland Area (9th and 51st Divisions), and Lowland Area (15th and 52nd Divisions).

    It was disbanded in 1972

    Its badge for the Command Staff was the Scottish Lion in gold (yellow) on a scarlet square bearing a black horizontal band - red & black being of an Army HQ brassard.

    Personnel other than of HQ Staff wore the badge but without the black band.
