Next we have two semi-official cloth badges of the RCMP Bomb Unit. These are not regulation items but are tolerated on unit baseball caps, parkas etc.

The next two patches are from K Division, which is the Alberta Division.

Next up some different versions of the Marksman's Badge. These are awarded as a result of the proficiency level achieved in annual qualifications. For the pistol a score of 260/300 in needed to get the basic badge and a perfect score of 300/300 is needed for the crowned Distinguished Marksman badge. Simialr scores apply to the rifle as well.

Here is a selection of badges for pistol marksmen. The current version is an automatic pistol design, the earlier badges (pre 1996) are in the design of a revolver. Bullion badges are worn on the full dress uniform and wire thread or yellow cloth badges on the other orders of dress.

    Paul,

I've been following your posts and this an amazing collection. I rarely see RCMP items for sale here in Canada. Looking forward to seeing more as it arrives.

    Mervyn,

Re your mention of GRC on the RCMP badges. For those who are not aware it stands for Gendarmerie royale du Canada.

    Regards,

    Gordon

This is a beautiful framed bullion badge. The photo does not do it justice, the badge is over 5 inches wide so the whole thing is very impressive. I understand it was only made available to serving members of the RCMP or RCMP veterans so it is quite a scarce item. Apparently it cost them over $100 to buy it in the 1980s.

Now some ranks badges for a very scary person. This is the rank badge of the Corps Sergeant Major in bullion for the full dress uniform and in wire thread on red backing for the No 2 Blue Uniform.
