T3V1 apparently repaired by having the rivets welding-rod :speechless1: zapped, number 4,470 from 1956:

    First... number 57 of T2V1S1

Next... a new variation... number 1562... Uighur inscription... concave reverse... serial number at 7 'o clock, no mintmark... this one obviously more interesting because I also have the award booklet incl. photograph of recipient! :)

You looked in the wrong column. Order was issued in 1937 not in 1947

    Glenn

This order was issued in the year 37 of the Mongolian calender, which started at the Mongolian independance after the fall of the Chinese Qing Dynasty in 1911.

1911 is considered as year 1, hence 37 is actually 1947.

So, technically this should/could not be an Uighur inscription OPS.

All the other orders and medals are so straightforward, but these OPS's give me a headache

For "completeness" purposes. I have 4 different Uighur script OPS's (from left to right - two right hand ones with booklet):

no 57 - mint mark at 12 / number at 6 'o clock and completely visible when screw is on

no 307 - mint mark at 12 / number at 6 'o clock and number half covered by screw

no 1562 - no mint mark / number at 7 'o clock and number completely visible

no 2082 - mint mark at 12 / number at six but very close to screw and fully covered when screw is on

Pics of order booklet for 1562 are show above already (a 1946 booklet). Will post order booklet for 2082 next (36 whopping pages! although I don't see the typical depiction of order number in it - nor does it make sense to have a 1940 order booklet for this high number... so is it even the correct order booklet?)

Those are basic descriptions of the differences in appearance of the types, but without any specific change-over dates or serial numbers information.

A nice one, Gerd. And the Imperial Addicts talk about their "slippery slope" . . . ! :P

By the emerging "working vocabulary", this would be a nice Type 3.3.

    (A 31/M 12.1) -- Type 1 (Screwback; МОНДВОР mintmark; long oval design with two red banners, ~300 awarded); Low = 701, High = 792; 1936-39

    (A 32.1/M 12.2) -- Type 2.1 (Screwback; upward-curved МОНЕТНЫЙ ДВОР mintmark; Uighur; SN at 6 o'clock near bottom); Low = 57, High = 2831; 1940-41

    (A 32.2/M 12.2) -- Type 2.2 (Screwback; downward-curved МОНЕТНЫЙ ДВОР mintmark; Uighur; SN directly below screwpost); Low = 1151, High = 2789; 1941-??

    (A 32.2/M 12.3) -- Type 3.1 (Screwback; Cyrillic; slightly concave reverse; SN at 7 o'clock); Low = 2, High = 6952; 19??-??

    (A 32.2/M 12.3) -- Type 3.2 (Screwback; Cyrillic; flat reverse; SN directly below screwpost); Low = 5094, High = 9941; 19??-??

    (A 32.2/M 12.3) -- Type 3.3 (Screwback; Cyrillic; flat reverse; SN at 6 o'clock); Low = 10007, High = 15000; 19??-70

    (A 33.3/M 12.4) -- Type 4.1 (Pinback, silver); Low = 15074, High = 30409; 1970-2003

    (A 33.4) -- Type 4.2 (pinback, bronze); Low = 31835, High = 39785; 2003?

(A 33.4) -- Type 4.3 (pinback, bronze, no serial number)

    Subject to revision . . . .
