This is the memberbadge of Isänmaallinen kansanliike (IKL) Patriotic People's Movement (1932-1944). IKL was founded at a conference on 5 June 1932 as a continuation of the Lapua Movement. The three major fonding members were Herman Gummerus, Vilho Annala and Erkki Räikkönen The IKL uniform was a black shirt with blue tie, The IKL had its own youth organization, called Sinimustat (Blue-blacks), members of which were trained in combat. It was led by Elias Simojoki. Sinimustat were banned in 1936 (although they were immediately reformed as Mustapaidat ('Blackshirts')).

Thank you for adding this organisation to the forum Vetgirig.

This is the memberbadge of the IKL youth organization, Sinimustat (Blue-blacks),

Sinimustat was banned in 1936 due to its involvement in revolutionary activity in Estonia.

So recently I inherited my grandpa's war medals and I accidentally stumbled on this thread while I was trying to find out some information on medals. The war was a part of my grandpa's life he never talked about but now after I got his war medals I finally have a chance to get to know something about his life during that period.

It seems like he took actively part in this youth organization called Sinimustat/Mustapaidat (Blue-blacks/Blackshirts).

Here are the badges I have in my collection. Does anyone recognize the one on the right? So far I have found no information on it.

Nice pieces.

A course badge, membership, another course/specialty badge, never seen this one before. But it doesn't really have the IKL/Sinimustat feel to it.
