CHEMULPO 1904 Medal

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Just wondered if anyone can tell me it this one is good or bad? unsure.gif I suspect the ribbon is incorrect and probably the kolodka as well but more concerned about the medal itself.

Many thanks in advance! beer.gif

Many thanks!beer.gif I suspected as much but I don't know a lot about Imperial Russian awards and have very few references that cover any. But that's just what I needed to know.

Just for the benefit of others as well as myself what shows this to be a fake? That ways we'll have it for future reference.

Orginals of this medal are wonderfully made. The scene on the back is artistic, the lettering and St. George Cross on the front have sharp edges. IMO...I wish all fakes had this many "tells". It would make spotting them so much easier.

Brand new, shortly after launching in Philadelphia (it was build by William Cramp and Sons of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania)
